How to do email marketing correctly?

Beginner here.

Just have a few quick questions...

Suppose you're sending visitors to a squeeze page so you can follow up through email marketing, autoresponders, etc.

How many emails do you send? 5, 10, 100, forever?
Suppose you're promoting affiliate products, how many do you promote? One, two, etc
Suppose you just send 10 emails, then what... does the list just become idle? In that case, what's the point or value of having that list?

Bonus Question: What's your preferred way of driving traffic?

Thanks!

These ways give you a high-level overview of how your subscribers are interacting with your campaigns and allow you to compare the success of one campaign to another.
    1. Establish your goal.
    2. Build your email list.
    3. Select the type of campaigns you want to send
    4. Create your first campaign
    5. Measure your result.

Best of luck for your email marketing.

My main list has 58 follow up messages.

They have been built over some years
and have various content. Some freebies,
    some educational, some simply entertaining.

That sequence has formed the backbone
of my email marketing for quite a few years now.

So I guess the answer is 'forever'

As an afterthought I would add that I
delete non openers on a very regular basis.

    Hope that helps.

Same as anything in marketing, you need to split test and see your response rates. I would only start at around 5, from there you email them doing a broadcast. It can be anyhthing, tips, things you've learned and how it can help them, tricks of the trade, etc.

Don't focus on promoting all the time, you need t provide value too otherwise your open rates will dwindle very quickly.

    Best of luck
