2 questions about email list building

Hey I was just wondering 2 things regarding list building.

Currently I use Aweber.

1.) How can I use my low-cost eBook to automatically get them onto my list?

I use E-Junkie for my shopping cart now so the eBook can be auto-delivered. There is a way to link it with aWeber, but it doesn't work very well. Plus, it sends them a separate email that requires them to click a link agreeing to join my list.

That seems like too much hassle. I'm looking for everything to be done in just one step. They buy the book, and they are automatically on my list.

2.) I've recently joined a few peoples' lists where they offer a freebie, but it didn't require me to "click to opt-in" like aWeber does. Rather, I just typed in my name and email address, then they sent me the download link which led directly to the eBook (not a confirmation link). From there, I was automatically on their list.

I'm wondering how they set it up such that I don't have to click a confirmation link?

Thanks a lot!

You can redirect to the product as soon as they type in their email address
and before they need to confirm with aweber but......you'll get loads of fake email addresses
that will never confirm in aweber...but will get your free product.

Do it right and ignore people who say I stopped using aweber because blah blah blah.

I've used it for years all double opted in and still opening my emails yes all 180,000 of them.

If confirming an email address is too much trouble for them do you really think they will be the type of person to part with money eventually?

That is a good point you bring up.

I'm still wondering how do you get buyers to automatically become part of my aweber list though?

People that buy my ebook are in a database in Ejunkie, so I do have their emails. However, in order to get them onto my aweber list (for the autoresponder), they have to opt-in. People rarely do that though.

The same is true for when they register for my course. I get their email address, but it still requires them to open a separate email and opt in if I want them on my aweber autorsponder. They rarely do that though.

So I'm wondering how do you guys get your BUYERS lists built?

You can turn double opt-in (confirmation email) off for Aweber.

I run nothing but single opt-in. To keep from getting fake emails, I put a statement along the lines that whatever the user is getting in exchange for opting in, that it will be sent to the address they enter. Very rarely do I ever get a fake email.
