How Do You Build A Responsive Email List?

I've been in the Affiliate Marketing space for years
but I've never built a list. Gasp.... I know I left money
on the table and all that jazz, but I just didn't want to
deal with it. I was happy as a clam selling products
online.

Fast forward...

Today, I'm all grown up and now I'm ready to figure
this email thing out and I need some guidance. So
far, I have captured over 500 leads, and after the
autoresponder emails ends, I'm wondering what
to do with them. How do I build a relationship with
my list?

Offer your subscribers something of value
Then sell them value added products

    or....

Just blast them with emails selling products until they become non responsive...

    Both methods work.

In a few words, think of email list as your youtube subscribers. What does it take to get more views from your subscribers? More videos, more VALUABLE videos, and little promotion.

That's the thing. I don't know what they want or
what they would find valuable. I don't want to
just send them emails and hope that something
sticks. I'm trying to lessen the learning curve.

I've purchased a solo with vendor A, and got great
conversions. Then I test out the exact same sales
funnel with vendor B and the conversions were in
        the crapper.

I'm not sure what vendor A is doing or how he's
relating to his lists to keep it so responsive.

I think you should read this article and it helps you to understand

The Vendor A is doing exactly segmenting his subscriber list.

    Hi Adrianne,

A responsive email list is a group of people who click on your links and read your posts or buy your stuff because they really want your content, and your premium offerings.

You attract folks who want your content and premium offerings by publishing helpful, targeted content persistently to your blog, to YouTube, and through podcasts. Or via your channels of choice.

Be really generous. Do not try to squeeze stuff out of folks. Just help them. In time, your email list will grow and these folks will click your links because they know you and trust you.

    Ryan

PS...Are those 500 leads just numbers? Or are they human beings who are fans of you and your brand, based on your generous service? I ask because if they are the former, they ain't making up a responsive list

Ok, so you can start with a simple email marketing campaign to see how it goes. You must check the Neil Patel guide for that.

For me, I have found that people often respond with a second follow-up email, if not the first one. Secondly, you should offer them something of value to stay with you. Give them something that makes them to look forward to your next email. Set up a schedule and stick with that and please get the emails written from an expert (if you're one, that's great.)

I usually do and A/B testing to see what's working for me and then stick with the right options. There's no one size fits all theory here. So, you'll have to see what works for you here.

Hi Adrianne, get a swipe file of some good subject lines. You might even want to look through your spam folder for ideas (i know that sounds weird, but those guys are good, lol). For affiliate marketing, short copy that that makes them curious enough to click on the link can work really good. Content emails, ironically get the most unsubscribes. Maybe since they might sound too "teachy" or preachy... You can put the heavy info in blog posts and videos, and then just sell the click in the email. Plus for content you want to be connected with them on FB. I don't think email is the best delivery system for heavy content right now. Just my opinion, but I think the operative word is "info-tainment" with a link. Just stay on topic and give them the news and highlights in a fun or interesting way... imho... Are you in a specific niche?

mail regularly. even 3x per day. If you need content, let me know. I like to base emails off of stories and quotes and current events.

    Be yourself and practice.

If you aren't getting unsubscribes you aren't doing it right.

Keep adding to the email sequence. Find a complimentary product to promote and create a 3-7 email sequence to the end of your current sequence also insert some non promotional emails talking about different aspects of your niche, maybe links to interesting aritcles or articles on your own site.

There is no reason your autoresponder can't have 150-200 emails or more.

you can also go the route of email blasts which you just create emails and send them a couple of times a week

I'll probably recap everything guys have said here, but the "Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook" is the best strategy for you. In other words, if you want your subscribers to stay engaged, make sure you're providing value three times more often than you're asking for something back.
