How to engage purchased email data

I purchased an email list data from a company and I'd like to make engagement with the email list
before recommending affiliates offers.
What should I do ?

    There are different sets of data you can buy. Some data services sell opt-in leads. If so it will help if you can find out why these people signed up for the list in the first place and give them helpful info on that.

    If your list is not opt in and untargeted, you will have to make guesses at what they could be interested in and segment your list according to their behaviour (opens, clicks).

    So why did you buy the data? What kind of people are in this list? Where are they from? What could they be interested in? Do they have anything in common?

    You must have had some idea when purchasing the data

    Your only chance at engaging with a cold audience is to speak their language. Unless you are providing them with highly-actionable value to their targeted needs, your email won't stand a chance. This means that having a targeted list and further segmenting it into smaller chunks (interests, job titles, geography etc.). If you provide a compelling offer that your prospect is interested, they may opt-in for further nurturing or even reach out to you directly.

    If you know exactly what they are currently interested in, then just send a relevant offer.

    I heavily promote PPL offers. So if I get fresh data of users interested in say life insurance, then I'm going to send them a life insurance offer and not screw around doing anything else.
