The critical link for better open rates: email subject lines

I have been looking for at apps that help email marketers improve subject lines for better open rates. Kahuna Subject Line is one app (disclosure, they published a blog post on this topic from me). I am interested to learn more about the experiences of people who are using alternative apps or services that focus on email subject line and pre-header text performance.

Can you reply with links to apps and services? I'm interested in doing more writing and research on this topic, eventually expanding to push notifs, social, and search ad text.

    sorry, I wasn't able to respond to my own thread until I had posted 4 additional threads... but that's another story.

    These apps rely on analysis and scoring of the subject line for urgency, tone, and in some cases, emotion. What the score represents is a probability that the email will be opened on the basis of the subject line. None of these solutions will write the copy for you, as far as I know, but they will suggest alternatives and focus your attention, as the copywriter, on words and the organization and phrasing.
