Mailchimp Automation Conditional emails?

I have a automated campaign I created in Mailchimp after a user subscribes to my mailing list.

1) When a user subscribes I send them a free course followed by a series of value emails.

2) Eventually I send them a course sales email. If the client buys the course, they are added to a specific group.

3) I send some more value emails after that...then, if the user has not been added to the group mentioned above, I send a follow up email asking them to buy the course again (with a bigger discount).

My problem comes after step 3. I continue to send value emails, but they are not sent to people who purchased the course and were added to the group. Basically all the people who didn't meet the filtering for the next email, do not receive any future email also.

This is obviously a problem because I have more sales later on in the automated email... Can anyone help me figure out how to do this?

Did you ever find a solution? I have a similar issue. I want to stop sending reminder emails to users when they do the thing I am reminding them of. I cannot find a way to do this with list attributes.

Yeah so the solution is to setup alternative campaigns. One campaign simply delivers value emails, the other campaigns only send sales emails. That way if someone doesn't buy they keep receiving values emails.
