Regenerate plain-text automatically in MailChimp

I originally posted this in the Beginners area and got 0 reply after more than 3 weeks. So I am reposting here, in the hope of getting some answers.

I am new to MailChimp and after sending my first campaign, realized that my plain-text version was the old content of when I started editing my campaign.

I finally found the extremely well hidden button to regenerate the plain-text version, fine, but I was looking to have this done automatically for me before I send a campaign. I am sure I will forget to do it if it's not automatic.

In the previous marketing email platform I was using (which shall remain nameless), there was an automatic setting. I have not found the equivalent in MailChimp, have not found anything in the KB when searching for "regenerate", and have not found anything when googling.

Is it at all possible? I have a free account if it matters.

If that feature doesn't exist, where can I submit a suggestion? I also didn't find a way to submit feature requests on the MailChimp website.

      Hi IGotMine,

      Of course it occurred to me. Unfortunately free MC accounts get no support whatsoever, not even by email (never found an email to send anything to anyway).

      MC's website does not host any user forum, hence my coming to this website.

      Any suggestion?

    I don't understand how people expect to build an online business when they won't even invest in the basic tools required.

      You don't understand because you didn't ask. This is not a business. This is a not-for-profit computer club of ~200 members. We don't send thousands of emails per day. We send one communication per week to our members. Therefore we can't afford the likes of Constant Contact, it's not cost effective for us. We have a limited budget.

      We switched to MailChimp because because our previous email service was costing us money with a terrible product and virtually no customer service. MailChimp is miles ahead of what we used to use. Granted, without support, and that's the reason I was reaching out to the MC user community. I am sorry I tried.

      I will stop posting to this forum since I get chastised every time I post.

      agmccall telling me "you get what you pay for" is insulting. Have you ever considered helping instead?

      I will seek help elsewhere. I thought this was where MailChimp users hang out. Apparently not.

        A basic paid email service with any of the decent providers will run you around $240.00 per year or $20.00 per month. I am sure the 200 members can all kick in .10 cents per month.

    Does that surprise you? Free versions often don't have full features.



    The idea of a free acct is to get potential customers to move from free into a paid acct. How would they PAY for customer support for free accts? MailChimp offers support for their paid service.

    Maybe go back to the previous platform? Or upgrade to a paid version of MC?

    --not "where MC users hang out" though many here do use MailChimp.

    --not the Mailchimp "user community" - we do not have anything to do with sending suggestions or feature requests to MailChimp.

    It's odd that Mailchimp doesn't have a live chat.

    I usually avoid services that don't have live support chat because it tells me they're either not interested in helping or the business isn't profitable enough to pay someone $3 more than min. wage to answer questions at 3 AM.

    They don't even have a pre-sell live chat. Silly.
