The Horrors Of Solo Ads

Recently i purchased some solo ads.

Being an absolute nobody and a "beginner", it's easy AF to get just shut down, manipulated and deceived.

I never go on a rant, about anything, because i always trust people too much, but people are full of it.

I don't want to come here and wine about it and be a negative nancy but, i have a question:

What can stop a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED solo vendor (i'm not going to say any names), from just purchasing traffic from someone who has a "not so great list", send mr.nobody here, the traffic and then just sell traffic from his REAL list, to the "big guys" who buy more than i do?

I'm currently trying to get my money back, because i feel like i got screwed (plus this person didn't do as we agreed to). It's a pain in the butt.

Any recommendations?

  • Pablo, i'm assuming you purchased an email marketing list.
The list may or may not be the problem.
Is the list current or very old?
Is the list representative of your target market?
What does your funnel look like?
What does your advertising look like?
What is the purpose of the list?
Are you advertising in the hope of achieving a sale straight off?
I suggest you calm down and analyse everything you are doing, then dive back in.
This is only a small setback. Find another company for lists if you are not happy with this one, but don't give up, keep going. good luck.

      Hey george.

-i purchased from a solo vendor. An actual reknow figure.

-MMO niche, there is no going wrong there.

-My funnel? Well it's similar to Brendan Maces 50 something % conversion rate landing page. A picture of me, headline and sumbit form. That's it.It also has a youtube video in the back end, were i can track views.

-I tested the funnel, no problem with the links, autorresponder workin fine, everything was good.

-100 dollars is not a "small" setback for me at this moment in tome.

-I was advertising in hopes of getting at least email optins and that there was more than 1 email OPENED.

I'll keep going. But honestly... there is nothing that can stop someone from selling me someone elses clicks and charging me premium...

I only bought 100 clicks, i'm not "worthy" of this persons list, he'll save that list for someone who buys 10x what i bought. In the mean time, just send me someone elses list. he gets 100 bucks from me, buys 100 clicks for 0.3, 70 dollars profit and he washes his hands... come on now.

Thanks. Won't be doing solo ads anytime soon.

Are you using tracking? If so, does your tracking show they sent 100 clicks?

Where did you buy the solo ads from?

Yep, clickmagick registered 100 clicks which is what i bought (although it had to filter 44% for some reason).

      bought them from UDIMI.

This is a toughie Pablo; split second you email anybody who didn't sign up for your email list, based on your content, buying into aka trusting you, you enter dicey waters. Murky waters. Everybody on solo ad lists didn't sign up for your offering. Meaning non-targeted, as far as you and your brand. List owners promise certain things but none of these folks know of you or your offering or your value.

My advice buddy; let it go. Online tuition. Focus 100% on creating helpful content and befriending folks in your niche. Build your list organically. Every person on your list digs you and your content and your delivery. Even if 100 folks join your list you can begin building business when 5 or 10 or 20 read posts, buy your stuff and spread the word.

I would not say what happened to you is unique to solo ads.
Thats like saying, I want to buy $100 in Facebook Ads and except to get some sign ups on my landing page.
Your going to get expensive clicks and rarely any calls to action, even if you spend thousands and thousands of dollars.
The issue might be from the solo ad provider, it might be from your landing page and funnel as well.
If getting "convertable" traffic was so easy to do, all of us would be Trillionaires already.
Why dont you try running your own traffic rather then buying it from solo ads people?
Have you ever considered, people who are selling clicks and stuff to other people, the traffic is likely leftover and not very good, because they are making WAY more money converting their good data to offers and stuff that convert.
