Creating email lists within one service

So just getting in to the basics of email marketing. I know about the rules that my name and address and "unsubscribe" has to be on the email and that the recipient has to have agreed to receive it.

I was told by an email marketing company, (hope I am wording that correctly; one where you have your lists and send your emails from), that I should have a separate account for each of my sites.

I think something is wrong there. I know lots of people have a subscription sign up but export the list to an email marketing service.

So how does this work? Say I have a site for web design and then one for handcrafted jewelry. They could not be further apart in niche. Could I not collect the visitors info then place them all in different lists within one email marketing system/service account? They would all have the same "from" email so what's the issue?

Yes. Autoresponder services allow you to create multiple lists and you can send emails to each of them independently.

Thank you! I had some email service telling me that I needed to create separate accounts for every single website.
