Recommendations wanted regarding setting up an email system.

Hello warriors,

1.
OK, here is the deal. I wrote a book regarding some topics that are pretty hot today and getting lots of press. I'm starting out with a small budget, so keep that in mind when you give your recommendations.

So I have some organizations and doctors that are licensing the book from me so that they can give it away free as a part of their marketing.

But everything runs through me. The landing pages, the file downloads, the follow up emails and ongoing promotions all funnel through me. License requirement.

I need something that is pretty extensive or something that can scale. I want to set up at least 8-12 additional follow up emails or maybe more, that are on autopilot.

I'm not talking spamming anybody. These people deal with the issues I've written about, so I will have an ongoing relationship with them.

2.
What do you recommend for file storage and retrieval for people to download files from email? Amazon S3?

Is there a way to keep track of total downloads?

Thank you all in advance for your recommendations.

For emails, Mailchimp. Maybe not so much storage but customer availability and tracking downloads you could try Kajabi its a great all in one. Would be good for you as well if you ever want to expand your offerings.

Sgalla, thank you. I think I've heard about Kajabi before. I just looked, it looks pretty intense though. But not within budget quite yet but it looks interesting. Thanks you for the heads up.

    1. Are the emails mostly automated?
    - yes: Mailshake, Mailchimp
    - no: Hubspot

    2. How about Dropbox? (not sure they have download tracks though)

Hey screaming dude, I know exactly what you mean and what you want to accomplish, and I know exactly how to do it I've personally built several setups in the like. In fact I've setup several local and niches email marketing agencies with all the bells and whistles needed.

However, you are a bit vague in regards to the sense of "recommendations" you look at and a few terms you use so I have a few questions for you.

    1. Obviously the "book" is in the health niche since you are licensing doctors etc. to give it away free. Can I presume you are talking about them "giving away free" an electronic version of the book here?

So, they'd have a form on their own site to signup visitors to download their free copy, but each licensee will have its own list and subscribers but you are looking at managing their email lists and campaign for them as well?

And of course, something easy to manage for you and easily scale-able as you will grow and will need to serve more?

Yes, there's a way to track not only total downloads but absolutely everything!

Will you build this system yourself, I mean landing pages and connections between sites and email system etc.?

Mainly, you are asking for "recommendations", but what recommendations do you need is it for which is the best services to use as email system for example, or is it "recommendations" on how exactly to do it you are looking at?

Do you already know how you want to set this all up?

I can help you, but I need answers...

    Regards,
    Andy

      HI Andy,

Thank you. Yes, you are pretty much correct on every assumption. Yes, I'm looking for recommendations on service, software, systems, etc.

I've started an account with Aweber, I figure it can do everything I need it to do for email. But I want to track downloads. From what I can see Amazon S3 doesn't really offer stats like that.

I'm an old Joomla user. I'll be creating my own landing pages to drive the traffic to. I really want file security, because even though the book is free, it's not. It costs at least an email address. I know there'll be file sharing but not like with theft. Plus I want "download analytics." At some point, a large download number is good for marketing.

I don't really need help doing it, just the best things to use to make it happen.

Now with that being said, I'm open to hearing what you got. Hit me back with some info.

      David
