If you give someone a free trial to your course, how would you follow up with them?

I suggest that you restructure the course. We have plenty of experts here who can help you tailor the course so that those who get access to the trial version will yearn to have access to the premium version.

Feed them portions of the content in your courses that give value to them. Just don't give it all away. Then let them know they can get more valuable information by buying the full course.

Your Follow up email sequence should be like that

1) First of all you need to remind your subscribers that their free trial has been finished and they need to upgrade their account in order to continue.

This message is very powerful since lots of people don t already know that their membership has been expired so it will send them a notification or a piece of information to take further action in order to continue........

2) In the 2nd message I will suggest you to give some sort of 10% off discount so more and more people can subscribe your membership....

I thought with all those courses you would have an almost infinite amount of things to talk about inside your emails.

Look, people don't give a shit about your products - they care about what happens AFTER they consume your products. Talk about that.

What if you were selling sugar or salt via email? What would you talk about then?

The myth is that your emails are about the 'thing' you are selling. That's not the case at all. Some of my best producing emails had nothing to do with marketing or creating an online business.

Out of 7 courses, I'd imagine you have at least 7000 things to pluck out and talk about.

I bet something interesting happened to you yesterday that had absolutely nothing to do with your products, but can easily be used to write an interesting email. I also bet that you could use that story to segue into your offer. Because the way it is, you have 7 courses with prob'ly 7000 pieces of advice - surely any of those pieces could be used in some way in a story-based email.

Talk about your own business. Talk about how you used this tactic and that strategy. Talk about how others are doing this wrong and have that backwards. Talk about the time you got chucked out of a nightclub for dancing on the tables.

Get some testimonial for your courses. Video testimonial or showing some result pictures of your courses. People want to proven result.

By the way, I don't know what your courses like but be generous with your free trial, give as much as possible because that is your first impression to your potential client but leave one best thing for the upgrade.

One more thing here, the pricing strategy play it well. Example you offer free trial, they can get an ebook for $7 then upsell to video $47 then a course $97 then coaching $199.

You have to tweak your business model to see results. You have to simplify your freebie offer and turn your paid offer into a recurring membership fee. What you can do is give away free trial as your free lead magnet. Then , plant google and FB ad pixel in your membership site landing page and opt in page. Then craft responsive email series to sell your paid course. Create a presell page. And drive retargeting traffic to your presell page. This should increase the conversion rate.

In each of the follow up messages give them short titbits from the main course.

example:

In lesson 3 of the reluctant sellers course we gave
you some simple tips on adcopy writing, have you put
those into practice yet?

OR...

In Chapter 8 of the lead magnet course book we tell
you about the importance of Creating a Compelling
Opt-In Page

This is a page solely dedicated to encouraging your
audience to sign up to receive your offer.

It's your chance to explain the benefits of your offer
to your audience without any distractions from other
content.

In that chapter we gave you 8 simple steps you can
follow to create an effective opt-in page. Have you
put those into practice yet?

These are examples from one of my own follow up emails for our affiliate training courses, they start people wondering what they are missing from the main course.

You haven't given anything away just got there juices working to find out what there missing

In the case of beginning an email sequence after someone is already a customer, I suggest using an onboarding sequence to introduce them to the product they just purchased, and if you have products that compliment each other, then you could cross promote your products during the onboarding sequence.

During your onboarding sequence, introduce them to the product, show them how it is meant to be used to get the most benefit from it, and as you are familiarizing them with the product, you can make recommendations or give helpful tips. You could insert subtle offers for your other products while doing so.

You can do this for each individual product you sell. If someone purchases an 'all access pass' you can still onboard them, and this could be a great opportunity to up sell coaching or consulting or perhaps tickets for an event.
