Maybe the problem is not the method, but the offer. If you offer something of quality for them to join your mailing list, it shouldn't be a problem to market it.

Give them something they can't refuse!

I post lots of links on Facebook and other social media site. Facebook does say that some are against community standards, and I can't always figure out why. Most of my links do point to freebie lead magnets.

I also like selling some products through affiliates and having them build me a BUYERS list.

I also have numerous chatbots that I use. Chatbots generally get higher open and response rates.

The whole web is about content, if you focus on creating valuable content on your website and on stable platforms, you could attract your own tribe.

There is so much involved in this from content upgrade to pop ups, and from using a traffic source to offering free stuff.

Be clear to identify your ideal customer by diving in a sub-niche, it helps you find your targeted and ideal clients. They get want you have

I use these tricks to get genuine email list of my users:
    1. Sign up button on your Facebook business page
    2. Add a link to your signup form in your normal email signature
    3. Add a subscription bar to your website
    4. Guest blog for other websites with a call-to-action
    5. Host an online webinar
    6. Ask website visitors for feedback
    7. Use social media followers mail or you can also run an AD with your lead-capturing forms

Once you collect enough users' email Ids then don't forget to verify email list.

Fb advertising. I use a ClickFunnels squeeze page that has a 62% opt in rate and it's just a plain white page with text about how to start an online business. People click the download now, enter email, then are redirected to a relevant affiliate offer. This method can break even or even profit slightly if done really well all while building a list.

      That's great !!

I attempted to do the same, with YouTube ads and an "expert" but couldn't get any sales. I had bought the rights to the product, so if I'd have been able to get sales I could have re-invested the income the next day, so even break-even would have been great, but as I say, the funnel didn't work for me, and my test budget was very small.

What was your price-point, if you don't mind me asking?

Interesting . . . any tips for success on YouTube?

I put a few YouTube videos up, and got far worse results than the same content as articles or social-media posts, so I guess there's something I am not doing right

you still can use facebook to generate leads
however you need to change the way you are doing it, posting links in groups is not the way to do it
you need to look out and connect with people in there who are searching for a business opportunity and attract them to you so that they start asking you what you can offer them

Facebook groups are a waste of time. I've tried it, very inactive. The best way is Youtube. Hands down, its by far the best way to generate free traffic. Building a subscription base channel. In fact, I think youtube might be one of the best ways to generate traffic period. But just remember, free is never free. It requires time.

Next bet would be facebook, but not using facebook groups necessarily to post. But using facebook groups to make connections with people in your niche, then posting regularly on your time line.

Of course good old fashion SEO blogging is still very powerful.

    Hey
I think there are several free traffic methods that works me and works for you. some Gurus have super powerful ways But their products are bit expensive. so i Probably say, Guest posting is a viable marketing strategy. remember, don't stop at one single guest post. always diversift and reach trafficked sites with authtority.

Video marketing. If you have a phone, you can start recording yourself for 5 minutes. say something and show the world a good strategy.

Social medi is a big driver when it comes to traffic. facebook, twitter, pinterest and instagram. what you need now is to take massive action and capture that traffic.

Yes, things like the phrase "make money online" are defined as "spam" by FB these days.

There are people making big money on FB groups, right now . . . I am growing my own Online Business (moderated) group, it is a lot of work to grow it, but I'm not having any problems with spam indications etc.

  • This might be a silly question, but: what are some examples of what i would say on twitter/facebook/LinkedIn to start an email list? I'm looking for examples of what to say to get emails.

You offer them something of value, such as an ebook, cheat-sheet, mini-course etc. and give a link to what's called a "Squeeze-page" where they give their email address to get the free gift.

For example, I have 7 free guides to different types of online business, on one of my website pages, and a free SEO guide on another . . . anyone who wants to download the free guides, has to give their email address to get them. I promote those pages on suitable social-media (relevant FB groups etc.) and people give their email address to ge tthe free stuff, so I am building a list.

Or create a contest, where you give away valuable prize(s), and people give their email address to enter . . . (I'm running one of those currently). A way to boost the results of a contest is to get partners in the same niche to promote the contest to their list or following, and in return they are given new subscribers by the contest organiser . . . the more partners (or the bigger lists and followings) there are, the bigger a win/win for everyone involved. You can encourage the people who enter, to Like and Share the contest on social-media, to help it "go viral".

the important part here is to emphasize 'something of value'
because what I see a lot nowadays is that people are trying to build their list by giving away a low quality pdf and this just doesn't work anymore

it really needs to be something unique with quality to also be able to generate new customers from people getting the free thing

You can create an easy contest on Facebook where contestents can win something valuable like a notepad or Mac so people have to enter their email address to participate and you can ask them to like and share with their friends

YouTube comments are an awesome place to get leads.

Just sign in and look for videos you can comment on that are related to your niche.

For example with weight loss, look for videos like "my weight loss journey"

You then add a takeaway from their content, what you're currently doing and how it's working, then drop your link.

Don't say exactly what it is. Tease them.

You can just watch the first few minutes of each video to get the gist of it.

The cool thing is your link will stay for years and will come up in searches.

And some of them get hundreds of thousands of views.

The idea is to find out where you target market is and stand in front them.

If you use your own domain it also gives you the advantage of switching your offer if you want.

You could create an awesome 7-15 page info product solving some problem. Allow affiliates to sell it for 75-100% commission. On the download page offer an additional e-course that complements this 7-15 page info product. There are many variations of this type of setup.

You could try posting on Quora. Answer relevant questions related to your niche. Post your link appropriately without spamming it too much on questions that you answer. You can also put a link in your profile.

You can post on relevant forums related to your niche. Include a signature with your link to start building your list.
