When's the best time to send an email?

I usually blast out emails at noon, expecting clients within the same timezone to read my emails right after their lunch. What about you? What time do you usually send emails?

For me (I run a small Chamber of Commerce) the routine is - wake up early in the morning and send out all emails from 7-8 AM.

I would highly suggest to avoid afternoons

You're definitely right gl. The difference between my open rates in the mornings compared to afternoons are night and day.

      Cearion, Interesting

      Awesome insight, Thanks!

Oh cool! You've had good luck with a whatsapp business profile?

George, Typically what's worked for me is also around 10 to 11 am

      Henry, Definitely agree!

Sats, a huge factor is what market you're trying to reach. I've sold to both B2B and B2C customers and I can tell you from experience, they are very different.

I find it very effective to send out emails from 8 PM to 10 PM. At those times, people are usually not occupied with something else.

Some ESPs have an option to send a message to a user at the same time they subscribed. The theory behind this is simply that they were online at that time, so it is probably a good time to send them a message.

If you don't have this ability to test the above. I have personally found that in general Mon-Thur 8am-11 am is good and can still be OK till about 2pm. Between 2pm-5pm is a huge drop-off. 5pm - 7pm starts to trickle up and 7pm-11pm is usually good as well. All times are EST and based on all stats: opens, clicks, and conversions.

Fridays are typically the worst. Weekends can be OK but can be hit or miss. If you do send over the weekend, you can often get a bump on Monday from those that didn't open until then.

The above are tried and true (at least for me) from mailing for over 19 years and sending billions of email.

It doesn't matter if people are interested in what you have to say/offer.

My automated systems take hours to send out every day, but what I have found is to set up our subscribers' expectations right at the start. In my experience, regularity is far more essential than any given specific time.

I'd say mid-morning to Noon. That's when I like to send mine out.

I'm also on a few marketers' lists and expect to see at least one of their emails around that time every day too.

I always send e-mails in the morning or very late in the evening. This way I get on top of the inbox when people open up their mail. This works well for me.

Whenever you get the best results from doing so

There are MANY different factors, which will be obvious from different people giving different answers to the same question. Some people say 7am is best, some around 11am, some get best results in the evening.

So the only real answer is testing for yourself.

Its better fo use whatsapp marketing instead of emails. The open rate for email is less than 33.33% as per study. Use new methods to get more traffic via whatsapp business profile

Generally, for sending the formal emails, the working hours are considered the best time to send the mails. However, in the work hours, the noontime and the evening time around 4 pm are considered best as people at that time are not occupied with loads of work.

According to a Q1 2017 report from Yes Marketing, Saturdays are actually the best days for conversion. HubSpot pulled data from 20 million emails sent over a 10-month period and found that Tuesday was the best day to send an email in terms of open rate.

The best time to send emails is 8 am or 4 pm. In terms of orders per campaign, 4 pm seems to be the best time. This is likely because recipients have more time are looking for distractions at that time of day

I think a good starting point is whether you're in a B2B or B2C space.

B2B would warrant emails on weekdays during work hours with Tuesday and Thursday the most impactful. B2C would be Fri-Sat-Sun or after hours/early morning on a weekday.

This has worked well for myself to start with, and we then follow the data to see where our email is most effective.

Do a search for 'What 14 Studies Say About The Best Time To Send Email'. It has pretty good information. I think it still requires testing of one's audience as age and profession probably have a lot to do with it. However, it never hurts to test new things.

Right out of the box you cannot determine what is the best time to send an email. But over time when you generate some stats. then you will be able to determine what time your emails are being opened by your leads.
