VPS Servers

I am considering building my own SMTP server for sending bulk emails and I understand that I would need a VPS server to accomplish this task. I currently have a dynamic IP address from my ISP with port 25 (and some others) blocked:

1. Do I need a VPS server to build a SMTP server?

2. Do VPS servers come with a static IP address?

3. Do built SMTP servers tend to get blacklisted primarily because they are new and don't have a track record?

4. Does anyone recommend a specific VPS server to build a SMTP server?

Thanks.

  • I do believe that you need a right VPS provider and I'd recommend you to try good ones from kvchosting.net and rockhoster.com. They are inexpensive and reliable. Support is active for 24 hours.

    • Thank you so much for your response. Would you happen to know what else I would need to do once signing up for a vps server to build a smtp server? I cannot seem to find any adequate info about this on the Internet.

  • I think you require a Best and Cheap VPS Server for your website. Over the SERP there are lots of options for you. Choose the best option for you. SERP is the best way to choose your server hosting.
  • hostingsource is the best VPS site.
  • try mxroute
  • Yes you need a VPS server for your website. As a startup you need a cheap and reliable VPS I recommend kvhosting. I have used it for a long time and it will give you 24/ 7 customer support. You can change your IP settings with that VPS. Good luck
  • There are many options to send bulk emails in a day but if you are looking yo buy the best and cheap server to shoot bulk mail then I also consider the VPS server. It is the best server which will you in sending bulk emails.
  • I recommend ecoinvps.com they provide KVM VPS at very cheap price, all VPS are powered by NVMe SSD drives as well as latest Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC processors. their servers are located in Virginia and Frankfurt with free DDoS protection and port 25 open.
  • Thank you all for your recommendations. The only problem that I see with VPN's is that they have their own requirements on how their vpn can be used with the ability to shut down the service altogether. So, perhaps outside of the cheaper fee, I don't see much difference in building my own smtp server or going with an existing online email sending service.
  • no need for a vps, you could use an online tool that connect to a google address.
    my process easy:
Buy a cheap domain, a .pro or .xyz
buy a google mail account, around 6$ / month
get an account on a cheap online tools, like lemlist
get an account to an online tools to verify your mails address or you will be blacklisted very quick

now lemlist and tools like that will let you link your google account, start by sending 20 mail daily and increase at the rate of around 10 more each days

at some point your mail will get blacklisted anyway, you just trash it, get another cheap .xyz and reconnect it to your apps...

    good luck

    • Thank you for your response. If I understand you correctly, your method can be quite costly only to get my email address/domain blacklisted. I don't know if this is worth the expense or risk. There are several email services available that already have an established reputation that are less costly.

  • You may try VPS hosting from reliable providers: kvchosting.net and hosting.uk.

    They are cheap and trustworthy.
  • Hi friend.to build an SMTP, its required to have a Public Unique IP address. because your server reputation will be calculated based on your IP.

so the easiest path to get a public IP is to use a VPS server with port 25 opened.
and this answers your second question, yes when you get a VPS you get a static Public IP address.

Now after you build the SMTP and get a 10/10 sending score, the main thing to do is to warm up your server.

    What is Warming Up IP?
When you have a new Brand IP Address for your SMTP, this IP will have no Reputation on the internet, and ISPs (internet service providers) doest know this IP.

So IP warmup is the practice of building Your Reputation on The Internet by gradually increasing the volume of mail sent with your IP address according to a predetermined schedule.

and while warming up your need to monitor your reputation and ensure its good otherwise you will get blocked.

a good cheap VPS service provider is Contabo or OVH.
    Good luck
