How to tell if someone bought through your affiliate link in an email?

Hi guys, I'm using email marketing to promote an affiliate product. I would like to know if a subscriber bought the product through my affiliate link so I know whether to keep plugging that product to that subscriber. If they bought the product, there's no use in promoting that product again. Is there a way to do this in email marketing? I'm using Aweber but I'm open to using any email marketing service.

    It is very hard as affiliates are not given that information. That information belongs to the seller. Although some networks and vendors allow you to add a bonus to the product, in which they either have to provide proof or purchase or when they collect the bonus they enter their email address and then you can move to your buyers list.

      Thanks for the input agmccall. That's too bad there's no information available because I would hate to keep plugging a product to people who have already bought the product via my affiliate link.

    You would check your email and or back office .For example when I make a sale I get an email and I can also track it in my back office of jvzoo. You can add a tracker to help you moniter your sales aswell.
