Tracking And Cold Emailing

How do I track the cold emails that I send out? I currently have an account setup with Zoho mail using my own domain.

I figured out how to warm up the inbox I just have to figure out the tracking now.

When it comes to tracking is it possible to determine if emails are opened, links clicked in email, etc...

The old-school way would be to send read receipts to your recipients.

The modern way would be to install a Chrome extension. Just look it up on the Chrome Web Store.

Unfortunately I'm using Zoho and not gmail. I guess I will use the old-school method.

Zoho is just an email platform it is not an autoresponder like Getresponse and Aweber. If you are sending cold emails you might want one of those or a self hosted one like mailwizz. With those you can track opens clicks etc.

Apparently Zoho CRM can be used to track emails. I'm going to look into it more this weekend.

I will only be sending out 5 to 10 emails a day, so I don't think an autoresponder will help me much. Also, all the emails will be different.

great post but what about any analytics ie open rate, delivery rate, bounce rate, etc? Also is it being sent in bulk via a different server or straight through Zoho? Thanks for any feedback. I know there is still value in email marketing.

Zoho can integrate with Mailchimp - https://mailchimp.com/integrations/zohocrm/

Yes you can. Follow this link that explains how to go about tracking the stats for your email campaign https://help.zoho.com/portal/en/kb/c...email-insights

because you are sending small amounts per day, the "easiest" way would be to place a pixel image in the e-mail. I would change the URL of this image every day you send them out. You can then look at the img file on your server to see how many times it was opened.

In order to track if they click the links or not, each day should go to a separate URL, and you would be able to track this with GA or the like.

The reality is with ANY campaign you should be at the very least using dedicated URL's for tracking IE lander pages.
