What is the acceptable spam rate for cold emails?

Hi everybody

Assuming you are using dedicated IP to send cold emails, Is there a chance that some of your emails are hitting the spam folder, even if you have a responsive list and you've done a good warm-up?

By the spam rate, I mean the percentage of emails that hit the spam folder to the total number of emails you send, not the subscribers' spam complaints.

If so, what is the acceptable spam rate? Should it be 0%?

If you've "done a good warm-up", the email list wouldn't be cold - or am I missing something?

Acceptable to whom? You run your own business - you know your costs, profits and reputation value. The only judge of what's acceptable is you.

Most cold emailers should strive for a reply rate of 10% to 15%. Beyond that point, optimising isn't necessarily the most efficient use of time. Most variations in your cold email reply rate depend on the kind of offer you're contacting people with.

Yes, there is a possibility that some of your cold emails may end up in spam folder, and I think spam rate range in 1% to 5% depending on the circumstances.

  • The acceptable spam rate for cold emails can vary depending on the industry and target audience. However, in general, a spam rate of less than 1% is considered acceptable. It's crucial to maintain a low spam rate to ensure the effectiveness of your cold email campaigns and to comply with anti-spam regulations.
