What would email marketing look like 25 years later? Fully automated? Or will it be gone forever?

Chime in.

I think email marketing will still be around in 25 years, but it will be very different from what it is today. It will be more personalized, interactive, and integrated with other marketing channels.

I imagine that email marketing in 25 years will be more like having a conversation with each individual subscriber, rather than just sending out mass emails. It will be tailored to their interests and needs, and it will be easy for them to engage with.

I think this is a good thing, because it means that email marketing will be more effective than ever before. Businesses will be able to use it to build stronger relationships with their customers and drive more sales.

I am already feeling the effect of changes within the last 12 years. I used to be very active between 2007 to 2015, and when I came back, the tools that we used are already extinct. You can't use multiple accounts anymore, among many other things.

I doubt that the world itself will remain the same for the next 25 years, not just email.

Email marketing will not be gone unless we find a better way to relay specific information, for example, how vipers basically stopped existing because of cell phones. However, the tools and the way they're used will continue to evolve, pushing marketers to follow best practices, where personalization and opt-in from the users will become very important parts of being successful.

I think after some time they will also introduce some kind of bot to manage our emails and stuff so there would be no point for email marketing then!

In 25 years, if I am still alive, then I suspect that I will continue to delete those spam emails and unsubscribe to others that I never signed up to.

Predicting the precise future of email marketing 25 years from now is speculative, but we can envision potential advancements based on current trends and technological aspects. after 25 years the email marketing will more advanced and fully AI generated which can make more effort less and easy.

On the surface it seems everything Is dead or dying, six various stores in my area have closed, even the internet seems dead, google has done a good job of casing people off, so you may get what you wish for, in 25 years, whats left is Amazon, facebook, walmart and better email.

Well 50 years ago it was about the letter, and now it has been replaced by email, you can look at certain platforms in the begenning of the internet and some of them are not around, i think email is the best method, for me auto responders do work, but its not al about fully automated, we can tell a story to our subscribers sharing our experiences and how we actually made it and how we can actually help them

Targeted marketing will still exist, but I think spam will become less relevant. I'd imagine in the future (not sure why it's not done today) that a simple proof of work will need to be solved by anyone sending an e-mail. This won't be noticeable to end users who send 1 email at a time, but to a spammer sending thousands per second, it would start to hopefully become economically non-viable.

It will still be alive and well but in advanced technological ways as we advance further with Ai. Precisely how I have no idea, we can only wait to see! Everything is moving at such a fast pace these days compared to 10, 20, 30 years ago!

Should still be around as long as we have Internet. May be used less similar to mail. However mail picked up once Amazon and other services became popular. So integrate Something solely to be delivered by email and it should still remain in the game.

Emails marketing will soon be R.I.P. It is no longer effective as it used to be, just as banner ads are no longer effective. The increase in scam emails, phishing emails, malware, etc.. has caused most email recipients to be skeptical about opening unsolicited emails. Most companies are now using what we call email filtering system, which scan and filter inbound emails for spam, virus, malware and more. This will eventually erase email campaign effectiveness.

It all depends where you are getting traffic from.

Most marketers use beat up lists to build their list. This is where your new subscribers are on 20 to 40 other lists and so your follow ups are not getting you any signups.

It all depends where the leads are coming from.

I believe the importance of email is growing each year with the volatility of search engines. I would expect this to continue in the coming years. Build those lists and use them wisely.

I don't think email marketing is going anywhere anytime soon. We depend on email so much that I think it is an integral part of the internet and no chat-type application would ever be able to replace email entirely.

I think, internet-marketing will be 95% automated in the next 10 years. People will always need to buy things and because of this internet marketing will never die... But with the new advanced AI tools being introduced in the market every year, it is just a matter of time before it would just take 1 good prompt to build a funnel and start driving traffic to it.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11788800].message }}
  • I think email marketing is the safest and best medium for actually connecting with your customers, which you own. Owning is the keyword nowadays! Look at the latest Google update that decimated a ton of businesses that were relying on free Google traffic. One day, you're flying high next day, you're basically out of business. If you are smart and build an email list and continue to grow it, the damage is minimal at best.

Email will definitely be around in 25 years in one way, shape, or form, and the best part is you own the traffic.
