Google Apps MX Records?

I recently took over a web server (whole website) with Google Apps MX records already setup. I know there are multiple emails created but I'm sure the old owner hasn't paid for Google Business Apps to continue the emails.

I have a couple of questions if any experience admin tech. can answer..

1. If I were to purchase google business ads to create my own email addresses, would google allow me to create the same old email address created before? So for example, support@mydomain.com was created and used before, user stopped paying I'm sure, can I re-create it?

2. If the MX records are already setup for the domain, it is as easy as ordering from Google and the ordered email will work?

Any help would be appreciated.

    Not too sure about #1 but can you not just take over the old owners google apps account ?
    Can you ask the old owner for his account login?
    Once you login you can change password and just add in your own billing info.

    Thanks for the reply bud.

    Well the thing is, we have the PW of the old google account but googles asking to verify the cell phone due to my location. The problem is the old owner is actually the 2nd to own the website so he doesn't recognize the # and neither does the first owner.
