Best Giveaway For Building LIsts

Hello, just wondering what your experience is with regards to which type of free giveaway makes it easier to start building a list. Ive tried free ebooks without much luck and recently i've been looking at maybe trying a free software giveaway to see if that would work better. Any suggestions would be much appreciated thank you.

It depends on the niche and your target market.

All work well actually, i feel the words on your squeeze page make the difference actually.

First of all your free gift needs to solve a specific problem so if you know that, you can create your squeeze page like this:
-> Healine: main problem of prospects
-> Call to action: Opt in to solve the problem

That usually gives the best results and allows you to pre qualify the people on your list which are genuinly interested in what you have to offer, and this will also make it easier to market to them when they are on your list.

This is what I do which I learned from good ol' Frank Kern lol.

Map out all the steps you have to take your prospect through to take them from point A to point B. Make the freebie about point A and help them by giving away one solid tip so they can get results immediately.

Thanks for the reply but i'm asking specifically which type of freebie i should be giving away to get the most opt ins in the internet marketing niche. Should it be a free report which ive tried and has been a dismal failure or should it be software or maybe an email course delivered over a certain amount of days related to the target audience?

I think this is a brilliant approach. It helps keep you on message, and keeps your prospect moving forward in the process you've created.

It can be in any form - video may work best, and can be an excerpt of whatever the final product offers.

it depends on the niche you choose. the giveaway will attract only those interested in it. so if the niche is not populated definitely you list will grow slowly. so delve into a niche that is hot.

I could tell you not about the WHAT to give away bout the VALUE of
what you give away. Make sure it is something that the prospect will
happily pay for. If you are giving away ad "free" report then hardly
anyone would want that. Give a report that cost money so that the
reader would feel that he stole from you for getting it free.

Sorry but your statement makes no sense, I am supposed to give something away that costs money for free? What am i supposed to tell them? Oh i usually sell this but i'm giving it away for free but i'm actually selling it to you??

It's really about value and relevancy.

You give something (as Raydal said) that is so valuable that they would gladly pay you for it. It has to set the tone for your relationship, your open rates and much more.

It needs to be relevant. You don't give a Puppy owner a senior dog care guide, it's not relevant yet to their situation. It's in your niche, but not useful to them for many years.

Most people wouldn't believe what my open rates are so I won't say. If you want to keep believing that 10 to 20% opens is solid please by all means, who am I to change your mind.

I say that so maybe you'll think about it before you get lazy and buy a piece of dung PLR to give as your offer.

You need to write it, record it or outsource it to a real pro.

I wrote my 2 freebies (I won't say why there are 2, but there are) and my time invested has them valued at single copy around $3000 to $5000 each. But like I said, I'd likely shatter some belief systems with my open rates.

They say you never get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression.

What 1st impression are you going to make?

        Thank you, Patrick

You can give away a gift (such as an ebook) but make it clear that your are providing long term value as in a newsletter such as letting them know subscribing will provide them long term benefits. This is because some people have email accounts that they use to get free stuff but never open subsequent emails.
