Thank you!

The answer (inevitably) depends on how you got them, and specifically on whether they're your subscribers who have voluntarily given you their email addresses because you're the person from whom they wanted to receive email.

Key concept: email marketing is permission-based.

(If that isn't the case, then it probably has no real value to you, and the legal and practical restrictions on how you could ever try to use may make it not feasible anyway.)

If these are all "diabetic" patients, you want to start feeding them good quality information in that niche. Not that they probably don't know everything already, but some of them just might be newbies just like the newbies around here. Then and only then after you have developed a trusting relationship with them should you consider pitching anything to them and for that you could check any one of a number of affiliate programs/cpa programs that offer diabetic products. Hope that helps. Good Luck.

Please excuse me if I'm being very dense (it sometimes happens), but I don't understand whether the answer to my question was "yes" or "no".

Are they your subscribers who have voluntarily given you their email addresses because you're the person from whom they wanted to receive email?

(I'm not asking again just to be pedantic about it: the options available to you really do depend on the answer to this! ).

Where is the traffic coming from and whats your optin rate.

I feel like if you're able to create a 40k email list you should know how to monetize it.

    something feels wrong here.

I somehow agree with Takingaction. If you made a decision to build a huge list like 40k... and took all the trouble to create a squeeze page, have and paid for autoresponder...it does not seems to look that this make any sense if you don't know what to do with the list. I feel this is weird situation.

Forgive me if I'm overinterpreting, but although you seem to have various other ways of explaining how you come to have the list, you seem strangely unwilling, or perhaps unable, to tell us that they're your subscribers who have voluntarily given you their email addresses because you're the person from whom they want to receive email.

I'm trying, but ultimately it isn't possible without knowing whether they're your subscribers who have voluntarily given you their email addresses because you're the person from whom they want to receive email.

Email marketing is permission-based (if it's legal and if it works).

There isn't a way round this!

The available options you have (both legally and practically) are determined by the answer to this question, just like they were yesterday.

If they're genuinely your own subscribers who want to hear from you, I suggest that you approach the autoresponder company GetResponse, asking them for permission to upload the list and email all of them.

GetResponse has a service whereby they test a small proportion of the list, themselves, before deciding whether or not to let to use their facilities for this. If they trust your list, after testing it, they'll let you do it. They're a solid, reliable company with a high delivery-rate for emails.

If they won't allow you to upload the list, then I suggest that (rather than trying other autoresponder companies with lower delivery-rates) you might try self-hosted autoresponder software, to send out the emails.

        It isn't always easy.

You'll probably need to discuss it first with your hosting company, who may well have restrictions on outgoing email, which you'd have to work within.

It would probably be a good idea, even if trying to do it yourself, to test a small proportion of the list first, to see (a) whether it causes any problems, and (b) whether it's worthwhile.

The specific problems that people sometimes have, in this regard, are those that can arise if recipients hit the "spam" button in their own email client software. If this happens often enough, it can jeopardize the security of your hosting, ISP, ESP, domain-registration and so on. It's essential not to get a reputation for "sending spam".

"Spam", in this context, ought to mean "unsolicited email" but it practice, it tends to mean "anything the recipients don't like enough for more than a couple of them to complain about receiving it". Which is why it can be a "tricky issue" and is also why autoresponder companies tend (rightly) to be rather "nervous" of customers who want to upload "home-made lists" under these kind of circumstances.

However, it may be possible to circumvent the problems, if you're entitled to email the people and can really prove it, reliably, to the people whose services you need to use to email them.

Ok then...if that's the case, I believe selling 2 things will be good to your list. Physical products (medicine) and soft copy (guides/ebooks/best practices/video/podcast etc. For sofcopy version it is also good if you can utilize kindle ebooks... so you promote your products via both amazon kindle and your email list. If you are busy working, get a freelancer to help you.

However, if you have not build relationship, it is better to get the trust first before introducing the products.

This is very good because you have super specific list.

    Good luck.
