Marketing to sell photographic studio equipment
Hi.
Im from Brazil and actually I have a company that sells photographic/studio equipment. I sell to people that have photography as a hobby as I sell to people that are photographers and work with that.
Im used to sell in an online auction and shopping website here, so Im not used to make any kind of marketing, people go there looking for something and buy by their own.
I already have bought my domain some years ago, but did not put anything there. Right now I decided to not yet put an e-commerce store there and instead created an institutional page and a FanPage in Facebook.
Im actually interested in customers that are photographers and work in some city near me (I have several customers that reached me through that auction site and said to me that they didn't knew there was someone that sells what they are looking for so near). Those people normally have a site containing their portfolio and a phone and e-mail to contact.
I don't know how to reach these people, right now I don't want hobbyists nor people far from me (but yes I sell to the entire country). The only way I can see right now is through places that teaches classes about photography.
If I build up an e-mail list it will be done by hand or using some software to collect e-mails through google and filter the results by hand (confirming the pages where those addresses came from, who is this person and where he/she works). But this is not an opt-in list.
I really think these people have interest in just know that I exist. I don't pretend to make a list to send several e-mails with news, I was planning to send just one e-mail pointing my site and the FanPage and say if they want to subscribe to something and maintain contact with me it would be through the FanPage.
I don't have sure, but I doubt I will have more than 1000 addresses to send just one e-mail.
This is still considered spam? No server will accept my list? It would be interesting instead of just create a temporary account and send it, to really have statistics about how many was readed, how many people did not liked I did this and marked as spam, etc.
As I said, I never worked with e-mail marketing before.
Any comments? Suggestions?
