Hi,

What is considered to be the best time of the year to sale your information to your list?

is it around the holidays (November, December)?

Which months you've had more success with?

That depends on many factors, especially what you're trying to sell.

But the worst period is definately june for most niches.

To my way of thinking, the time of year is not so critical. The important thing is that you have nurtured and prepared your audience for the new product release. The popular term these days is the product "launch."

If your audience has been prepped and readied for what you are offering they will be anxious to respond to your offer. But the time of year could be anything if you have properly prepared your subscribers.

I have lists in 9 entirely different niches, and have been running my business for more than 5 years, and I still don't know the answer to this question with any real degree of "statistical significance", so I just don't worry about it any more.

Most years, in most niches, I perhaps do a little worse in both July and August than I've done in May and June. And every year I do worse in December than the month or two before it, but then January always (more than) makes up for a slightly quiet December, anyway. But all this doesn't mean enough to me to change anything I do, at all. I still build all my lists, and my autoresponder emails, in all my niches, still go out at all those times of the year, just like they do all year round.

As long as you have a good continuity-process with your email series, and set and fulfil your subscribers' expectations well, the "seasonal differences" (unless you're in something like specifically a "Christmas niche" or a "Halloween niche", of course!) should be too small to make this worth taking any notice of.

I really like Steve's comment above, and would only add that if you're informed on your niche and market, you should be in a position to market to your list whenever you choose.

Of course this doesn't work if it's a 'seasonal' or holiday promotion, but if it's a relatively evergreen niche, worry about building that relationship first and you'll find time of year doesn't make that much difference.

If it's an offer they cant refuse then the time of year becomes irrelevant.

One of the advantages of having a list is it frees you from having to worry about what time of the year is the best.

So "timing" is more important time. As others have said, the better you've maintained contact, relationship and prepared them ... the better your timing. If you haven't done those things the worse your timing will be, no matter what time of the year.

The best time is right now. If you have information your list should know then there is no time better than right now to tell them. You can definitely overthink things too much.

Every month is a good month for me. I start selling as soon as you opt into my email list, and then from there you hear from me with some good advice until you unsubscribe, or until i die. I dont give up on my leads. I have over 150+ autoresponder emails already set up and ready to go... waiting for the next person who wants to learn how to market their site on the internet.

What? Isn't this an effective form of marketing online? Works for me, you should try the same - no matter if you think your product is seasonal or not. And if it is seasonal... use that free time to market another product in a different niche. Dont let convenient fears tear you down.

I've read a few places that selling on the weekends (friday - sunday) is generally good. Most people get paid then. And of course, the 1st of every month is always nice. If you've got buyers on your list though, it doesn't matter. That's just what they do, buy buy and buy.

Most of my sales are right before xmas. I do quite well in the holiday season. However, January is terrible for me. Also, there is a period know as the summer sag. Customers are outside having fun and not sitting in front of their screens. That is why you see many ads for the super summer savings.

Back in the 90's I would tell people that they needed to get a selling site filled with web pages. That way they could sell when their physical retail store was closed - such as 3am, but I quickly found out that no one buys anything at 3am - as in zero. Sales rush would start at 5pm and go on until nine. There were so many buyers, that it would overload my servers. Hey, the internet would slow down to a crawl even. Like, the information superhighway had a traffic jam.

Time is a very important factor in when you release a new product or new service.

  • Well actually my friend the best time to sell to your list would be 3-5 months into it. I find that working with my list this way maximizes my conversion rate drastically.

Every day of the year is good to sell to your list.

As soon as someone joins your list, you should have something to sell to them.

The best time of the year to sell depends on what you are selling and if people are interested in buying it to solve their current problem.
