I have a college students email list with 900K emails. Before 15 hours exactly I started my first Test email marketing campaign and sent emails to 1,300 only from my new server and domain. I have just checked the reports and I got the following

Visits: 91
People: 80
Conversions: 15
Revenue: $525

My head is about to explode! Is that normal???

Wel if that is the case i am happy for him.

The question remains though, how did you get those email addresses? You want to make sure you got those in a legitimate way so this little success story doesn't end up bad...

I would think that those results would be a great!

But I agree with JensSteyaert... depending on how you got those emails it might end up being a train wreck in the future. I would stick to smaller sending's and take out any people who opt out of complain immediately.

Or even better get the list professionally cleaned but a online service.

Well, how did you acquire the list? What are you promoting? How are
you sending out those emails? Do you have permission to contact them?

Answers to these question will help to determine what is "normal". IF you
made that amount of money from just spamming and without getting your
email service shut down then that's NOT normal.

So far you've made $2.47 per email, with 898,700 to go, for a grand total of $2,219,789 forthcoming.

Either something funny is going on here, or someone is about to retire early!

    (or both...)

I agree with Jarrod's comment. This is a fantastic result from a test, assuming this will be typical of the rest of your list. All I can say is lucky lucky you!

    What is normal?

To speculate further, we need to know what you are offering. Seems beyond normal.

If this is correct, then your list must be super targetted. And it must be matching with your offer. This happens very rarely. I would say if you do it right you can get lot from your list.

Just dont do mistakes, like dont try to be greedy and send mail to all at once, send slowly. Because if you send fast you are going to ask for trouble with ISPs.

Also make sure your list is clean from bounces and bad addresses.

    Hi ifahed,

I echo others on this post, you want to make sure that you are sending out your emails in small batches so that you don't get a lot of possible unsubscribes at once, as that would only get your auto-responder account shut down.

It will also give you a chance to do some tweaking to your emails between batches to test what works best.

Keep cracking, stick to small numbers and good work!

That's an excellent result. High conversion rate is the key!

Why you don't think that's not normal?
