Freebie seekers vs buyers

How can i understand that my list have freebie seekers and no buyers or very less number of buyers? I have sent 10 emails but they click on the affiliate links rarely, even though it just says click here with hyperlink. I think i need to buy some top quality solo ads to get handful of buyers?

Without your own product, or at least a bonus offer for an affiliate sale, you cannot segment out your buyers from your regular list.

You can't force people to click on links... only great copywriting and relationship building can do that for you.

You might want to invest in an 'email series' type of WSO to learn what to do with your list once you've developed it. Getting people to sign up is only part of the equation.

Thanks for the suggestion. Are you saying that i should provide them discount or a free gift to push my affiliate offers?

Take your list... send 'em a broadcast saying "Hey, go check this out: "affiliatelink" - and you will know you made sales when you see money showing up... but you'll have no idea who bought.

Now, instead... send 'em a broadcast saying "Hey, go check this out: "AffiliateLink" - and if you buy it, let me know your Paypal transaction number, and I'll send you this great bonus just for buying through my link"... and send 'em to a squeeze page to grab their email address "so you can send them their bonus" - then use automation rules to move them off your freebie list when they get added to your buyer list.

Now, I wouldn't word the emails that way, I'm just trying to let you see the 'flow' - so to speak.

You need a way to determine *who* bought - and get them to join a different list.

If you want to see this in action - Google the name of any popular product plus "bonus"... you'll see sales pages offering a 'bonus' if you purchase through their link. This is exactly what they're doing, adding you to their buyers list.

        Make sense?

uhm, in most cases, you dont need to do this to be able to know who is the buyer.
Most affiliate programs allow to pass a tracking Id in the url...

you can pass a tracking ID in most affiliate programs (all the ones I use), so from there you know which ID converted to a sale and you can then know who converted. (you can pass any parameter in the ID you could pass the name or the email of the subsciber for exemple)

    Lot depends on:

    1. How large is your list?
    2. How persuasive are your emails?
    3. How targeted is your list"? (list quality)

So you see there are a few factors to be considered. Seeing that you
didn't share any of that information its hard to say where the weakness
    lies.

      Following are my replies :

      1. Only 60 subscribers.
      2. My average list open rate is 12.8%.
      3. I have captured these email through Social media marketing and opted for safelist as well but most of the subscriber's emails via safelist hard bounced.

Hey, a lot of people will do it like this.

    Big List Of Everyone.
Who knows who's a decent subscriber on that list. Usually I'l have a followup series on this list with a small priced product of my own (say $7).

    Buyers List
This is a moneymaker for sure. Everyone on this email list has bought from you and could do again. Try selling them a higher priced product,

    Big Spenders List
Usually the "big spenders list" is where you try to sell them your bespoke products.

I just took a look at your squeeze page - and I have to ask... "Who wants to be a freelancer?"

I mean, I don't know anyone who dreams of growing up to be a freelancer.

It's not a vocation that people are anxious to learn about...

Your proposition needs some work, if you don't mind me saying so... You're supplying an answer to the question: "How can I make some money quickly?"

THAT should be your headline (that is, the sentiment, not the exact words...)

I'm just guessing, but I'd put money down on the idea that your opt-in rate is down around 10% or so.

You need to target what someone wants... what do people want who would be interested in freelancing?

They want the ability to make money with a completely flexible timeframe.

Just a few random thoughts... I hope I've not offended.

Not at all, i am not offended but instead got an insight view on my squeeze page. I don't want to claim a certain amount of money which everyone IM marketer promises online. I want to provide target audiance guidance through which people can at least earn their living. Can you suggest few points which i should mention on my squeeze page? I would like to change it, if any additional thing which are needed to be changed on my squeeze page don't hesitate to share. I would appreciate it.

I took a look at your squeeze page. I would change everything above the red arrow and at least some of what's below it.

First off, there's no benefit offered. As Ben mentioned, what do people who might be interested in freelancing really want? (Clue - it isn't to be a "star freelancer").

            > Is it money?
            > Is it freedom to set their own schedule?
            > Is it the ability to work from anywhere?

Then go deeper. What does getting the benefit mean to the person? When you come up with a benefit, ask yourself "so what?" Take that answer and ask again. Keep asking the "so-what" question until you can't come up with anything. That is an ultimate benefit, and a reason someone might sign up for your squeeze page.

Props for not wanting to make income claims like some of the seedier elements do, but you still have to make a big benefit promise in your headline. Use bullet points that tease the information in your emails and bonus.

The arrow and the form field itself is fine.

Last, and this is a bit controversial, I'm not a fan of the "we hate spam" lines so many people use. In my mind, they were a good thing back in the day, but now they just put ideas in peoples' minds. I want them anticipating the cool stuff I'm going to send them, not thinking about spam, or having their info sold. A simple link to a privacy policy (Privacy Policy) is enough.

            Hope this helps...

As far as your stats go, your sample is way too small to mean anything. With 60 subs and a 12% open rate, only 7-8 people are even seeing your content.

I could go on, but I don't want to pile on and overwhelm you. Get this first bit right (or at least better), and the rest gets easier.

            Hi,

After reading the posts in this string, I reviewed your squeeze page. Although I'm not a freelancer I also went ahead and subscribed to your list so I could see the process and your e-book.

May I suggest using a different giveaway and a few other tweaks? I believe it would be easier for you to build your list and then build a follow-on relationship with your subscribers if you could offer a short special report with a subject that says something like "7 Best Websites for Making $100 Per Day as a Freelance Writer." This would also be the headline for your opt-in page along with a few key bullet points about the report.

For example, your report could talk about Fiverr, iWriter, oDesk, eLance, Scripted, etc. as sites where freelance writers can earn $100 per day. You can provide details about these websites, some screen shots and tips about how to use each site. If you break your report into 4 or 5 topics, you can also create follow up e-mails that would further educate your subscribers on these topics along with recommending complementary affiliate products. Finding 4 or 5 affiliate offers that matches up with your report and e-mail articles will really make it all fits together well for you. This should also make your readers more likely to buy the products you recommend since it would be a natural fit and progression.

If you're not a writer, someone on Fiverr should be able to put this kind of report together for you along with the articles for the follow up e-mails. You can also find someone there to create the e-cover and an opt-in page that complements your giveaway... Altogether, this should run $20 to $40.

One last thing: Instead of sending your report as an attachment, I recommend creating a download page and sending the link to the download page in the "Here is Your Report" e-mail. This way your subscribers will learn to click on links in your e-mails from the very beginning.

Hopefully, this was not too much information and helpful.... I look forward to seeing your new page and report.

For freebie seekers, you still have ways to earn a little money from them. Try to apply pay per lead programs on your list.

You're right! I was also thinking on those line. I am a member of Adworkmedia CPA website. Will look out for an appropriate one which is relevant to the topic. Last time when i tried to get approval for an offer they didn't approved because that offer doesn't allow promotion by email marketing.

Ask yourself would you click on the link if you were sent that email?

Provide valuable content and build a good relationship with your email list.
Its useless to have a list that is not responsive.

Let them get to know you first and then get to know more about them.

Sometimes the affiliate links i send are not relevant. Few days back a send a free gift but no one clicked on it! Initially i didn't send welcome email and expectation setting email to most of the members and started communication with them after 15 days or so. I think this gap has worked against me so the open rate and CTR is very low. But some of the subscribers are regular reader of my emails.

Create your own product and have the buyers Opt-In to a separate list after buying to access their purchase... This is the easiest way to segment buyers from non buyers.

If your list was built from high quality traffic... and is now unresponsive... you may need to think of new ways to bring increased value to them on a more frequent basis.

I do send three newsletter in a week. I didn't welcomed or communicated the initially for about 15 days after that i started sending them content! May be this is one of the reason behind unresponsiveness. I created my list via Social network marketing.

          Hey Syssolution,

I hope you do not mind but I checked out your Squeeze Page.

I am concerned a little in that you do not describe anywhere of the benefit of being a FreeLancer ?

What can it offer them. Monetarily wise ?

And, NO , you do not have to make any outlandish income claims.

And basically people will want to know what are the Benefits of being a "Star Freelancer " ?

Could you make $50 a week or maybe take it to a Level of working it Full time ?

You need to be a little more descriptive to let people know what is the potential of being a "star freelance " and make it more enticing for them to sign up.

P.S. You could use some Power Words in your Sq. Page like " DISCOVER" how to be a star freelancer and work full time from home "
or "My free Gift EXPOSES the Steps needed to be a Star Freelancer "
or better yet "DISCOVER the SECRET to becoming a Star Freelancer"

These Power Words work well. I use them all the time in Headlines, Subject Lines, Squeeze Pages, Email Copy etc..

          Have fun with it

I hope you do not mind but I checked out your Squeeze Page.

I am concerned a little in that you do not describe anywhere of the benefit of being a FreeLancer ?

What can it offer them. Monetarily wise ?

And, NO , you do not have to make any outlandish income claims.

And basically people will want to know what are the Benefits of being a "Star Freelancer " ?

Could you make $50 a week or maybe take it to a Level of working it Full time ?

You need to be a little more descriptive to let people know what is the potential of being a "star freelance " and make it more enticing for them to sign up.

It sounds like 10 emails might not be enough data to come to any conclusions...

But not only that, it could be the traffic source as well.

A freebie seeker is 100x different than a buyer...

So make sure that your expectations up to par with the traffic you are bringing in.

I think you should try to launch some quality products in the WSO section. Believe me you will get quality buyers by product launching.. Solo ads are also good but only choose those Premium solo ads vendor and don't forget to create a strong sales funnel...

    Hope this helps..

Back in the 1970s, the US Supreme Court took on a case that debated whether or not porn was protected free speech. One of the justices was asked how he knew something was pornography. He replied that he couldn't define it, but he knew it when he saw it.

This is what happened here. In the eyes of that particular subscriber, the content was spammy. Lead with value, then offer the promotion as a solution. Sounds like you might have gotten that backwards.
