Why build a mailing list?

Irrespective of what business you are in, you are at a disadvantage to the competition if you have no mailing list. With a mailing list you generate traffic on tap, send emails to that list and send traffic anywhere, to whoever you would like to send it to or as often as you would wish, making it a true asset. You can make money by sending an email. For my case, I am a guy who has been around the block and have tried almost all the different ways of making money out there.

Back in 2005, I was into micro niche sites, SEO, amazon, affiliate marketing, blogging and eBay you name it, I was probably doing it. After limited success and hours and thousands of dollars of frustration. I turned to building lists, buyer’s lists being my primary focus where I have went on to make hundreds of thousands of dollars from the lists.

Building a buyers list is what I want to talk to you about. If given the twenty thousand feet view, traffic will be driven to your webpage and on arrival; they receive something in exchange for his or her email address. It is that simple!

    What is the difference between a buying list and a regular list? I have not heard that term before.

      a buyers list is made up of people who have physically paid for a product. This type of customer is more than likely going to buy from you again because of the value you added to that person.

      Most people segment their lists.

      For example a person signs up to your list, they are a subscriber. Let's say you are using a OTO and a certain percentage of people buy it. In your AR' "automation rules" you can set a rule to automatically un-subscribe people who buy the OTO from your subscribers list and subscribe them to your OTO buyers list.

      You can further segment, like OTO buyers who buy a higher priced product.

      The buyers list has:
      #1 Demonstrated the willingness to pay.
      #2 Demonstrated the ability to pay.
      #3 Proven they are not just tire-kickers.

      The list goes on...

    I'll point out that without creating your own product, it's not nearly as easy to have a buyers list. When you send your list an affiliate link, you'll see money show up in your accounts, but you'll not know who bought.

    So there's no way to use an automation rule to move them to your buyers list.

    But you can use a trick that some use... of offering a bonus if they purchase through your link - and, of course, they have to supply you with an email address to get their 'bonus' - which of course is merely some resell rights material.

    But nothing beats having your own product to be able to create a buyers list...

      Build a list whatever you do... If you make money that is.. Not doing so would be a HUGE mistake.

    I was reading recently that Agora is now changing their business model to one that focuses exclusively on building buyer lists - and NOT on squeezing free sign-ups. They are offering a low price-point buy in because they only want customers going forward.

          The magic of having a responsive list (one that does things when asked) isn't really in "selling products."

          The magic is in being able to reach out and communicate to them in their own inboxes whenever you wish (or as often as promised).

          Since your site is based on advertising, your "product" is ad exposures. You can structure your list and messages around getting subscribers to click back to your site.

    We can easily add subscribers to our list even buyers by doing JV with Affiliate contest winners and websites owners. You will not lose anything there!

          If done right you should be building your list for free while making cash on the backend

          Split testing and optimizing every stage is key , once done correctly, then its a case of scaling as quickly as possible . Rise and repeat

            Yeah, My Squeeze page offering a giveaway converted 35% at the beginning but right now after split testing and add a 3D pic of the guide my Squeeze page converts at 52%-55%!

              I agree, we are rotating landing pages on a daily basis finding what is converting the best for us for a specific traffic source then from there scaling up.

              We recommend when starting out to always test small

              I would gladly take a page that converts less on the front end but made cash sales on the backend than a page that has a high conversion on the front but no sales on the backend

              These are numbers that can take you from earning a few hundred a month email marketing to thousands . These metrics are what everyone should know inside out if they are attempting to build lists and monetizeing them

                Of course, We should keep high conversions both in front end and back end! But I am Offering free report in font end and redirect everyone to a CPL offer after they submit their email address. CPL offer also converts 40%-50%. Because that's also a freebie and I earn money $1 per single opt-in!

    Why Build a MAILING LIST ?

    - Because you can make money on DEMAND
    - Because you are building something LONG TERM
    - Because without a LIST you have NO BUSINESS!

    Build a list is an absolute must for anybody who takes their business seriously.

    Even before online people were building lists of prospects!

    Having a list also makes things much cheaper and efficient

    - Instant Deliverability
    - Significantly less than postage

    Do yourself a favor if you do business and build your list!
