Autoresponder vs Newsletter

I am new to building email campaigns.. What is the difference between a newsletter and autoresponder? What do you guys use?

    "Autoresponder" is the name of the service/software that "sends stuff out" to subscribers.

    Some people refer to their outgoing emails as a "newsletter" (for example, for lists of customers who have already bought something - "buyers' lists"). It depends a bit on the niche, and the terminology used by the business/marketer.

    I think it's probably fair to say that "newsletters" are usually "broadcasts" rather than "autoresponder series emails", that's to say that all subscribers receive them on the same day, rather than as part of an automated series sent out in accordance with the numbers of elapsed days/weeks/months since the date on which they subscribed.

      Newsletter can only be sent to emails that opted-in or subscribed to your newsletter. Newsletter mainly is informative and you can certainly slot in some advertising.Newsletter in most cases are sent monthly or quarterly. I have yet to see newsletter sent twice a month. There might be, but I haven't been fortunate to see one yet. Autoresponder can be sent multiple times a month.

      Autoresponder on the other hand can be a automatic response to request for product or service info. You can set it up to respond immediately the request is made. You can setup a series of followup email after the first response. Some people use it for prospecting or recruiting.

    Auto-responder is the mail which is send automatically if some one mailed you. For example: "Thanks for your mail, we will contact you shortly"

    Newsletter is, when some one subscribe to your service then every update of you will be send to them by mail.
