Best self hosted SMTP servers?

I'm looking to host my own SMTP servers to sending out emails. Any suggestions to the question above?

    For setting up an smtp relay server you will have to do alot of work, also you must have an mta to setup for an smrp server which is quite expensive apart from that you need a whole server monitoring team to take care of your email campaigns. Therefore I recommend you to go for some good smtp relay service provider.

    if you want to use self hosted smtp then there is a simple method which is get a cheaper vps, install WHM/Cpanel or for free u can use virtualmin... create email ID and use the same SMTP detail.... its advised to use port other than 25... u can use port 26, 587 for better performance....
