I am currently using MailChimps free account for my email list.

I am looking upgrade to a paid account as soon as possible.

Have you used Mailchimp and another similar service like aweber, which is a lot more expensive?

what are the differences? why pay so much more for aweber?

Without knowing *why* you're using an Autoresponder - it's difficult to offer any objective comments.

But Aweber allows things that will get your account closed at Mailchimp - that's one reason.

Well, I am obviously building an email list. Its got only 2 subscribers at the moment.

I am sending out links to my blog posts twice a week at the moment, then when the list gets big enough, i'll be sending out surveys for feedback and with a view of creating a product/service I will back to them.

The wont be any else I'll use it for.

If you never plan to offer anything other than your own products, then stick with Mailchimp.

But you have to know that you're not benefiting your subscribers any by doing that. Unless you're the world's recognized expert in your niche, and no-one offers anything that complements what you do, then you aren't offering the best possible information to your subscribers.

      Win-win is the subject here.

If you fail to sell your list on a product that will help them, it's a lose-lose situation. Far too many people think that the job of a salesman or marketer is to make money for themselves. If that's all they're in for, they won't last.

        Can't be said any better!

When you can't offer anything that helps right from the first email, people will straight move onto the next people who WILL.

Anyway, I personally vouched for GetResponse, as it is very flexible and user friendly. I never use Aweber, so I can't judge.

I have heard that IM Rapid Mailer is a good option, if you want a self hosted autoresponder. It's a one-time fee, and it's now selling at $67. Still pretty cheap, in my opinion, especially when Getresponse can cost you $180 per year!

I still have to hear what you guys think about it, but the idea that one can host his/her own autoresponder really entice me.
