How to build trust under a faceless alias?

Hey,

I'm in a niche where I don't want to be public at all so I post under an alias. I don't have a picture either as I don't want to steal some poor guy's random picture. So how can I build trust this way? It seems so much harder. I've been doing some research and its so much easier to trust marketers when you see a nice looking photo of them smiling. What to do?

I asked a similar question during a webinar with expert marketer Matt Bacak and his advice was to hire a family member or friend to be the face and give them a percentage of sales or a flat upfront payment.

The chances that I'll run into someone in person who reads the Warrior Forum, or my website, and recognizes the picture is so slim that I'd have better luck with the lottery.

I worry not at all about it.

Honestly, I would reconsider just taking a picture of yourself. It can be a random shot from a distance if you are self- conscious about it.

Having a photo of yourself can make people a little more closer to you.

      Even in a subconscious way.

The more opportunities you can engage with your Readers the better off you will be.

And having a Photo can help

In my opinion you could easily use a image of yourself and chances are nobody you run into will recognize you (Especially if you shoot it from a distance). Or even have a friend or family member pose for you.

Really the only time you would have to worry about it is going to one of these conventions with other marketers where people are going to be right on top of you. But in a situation like that you are probably going to want to be known by the people who are there.

In all honesty, you will likely not have a issue.

It's harder, but one way around this is to develop a "brand" with a logo, etc....

Then use your pen name as sort of a CEO role. Call yourself Dave from XYZ. It's still personal on some level... hell, some people may even trust you more depending on the niche.

    As Ben said...

What are the chances that you run into someone from the warrior forum in public?

If you're male, you can grow or shave off a beard/moustache. Put a cap on to cover your hair. Heck, all Superman needed to become Clark Kent was a pair of eyeglasses.

If you're female? You ladies will know far better than me how to change your looks. If anyone wants some inspiration, google around for some of those pictures of hot actresses without their makeup...especially the ones "of a certain age."

I seen some people use a caricature and made it work so that might be something to try.

I like the caricature idea. I'm having the same issue. I might just alter my features with makeup a la dope2111 tutorials on youtube. Snap a picture. Voila! I'm someone new.
