Hey guys,

I am offering a free report as a gift for signing up. The report is a general fitness report but is tagged as the secret to losing up to 21 pounds in 21 days. It is all geared up to the CPA offer - the three week diet.

I direct them to the video both in the report and on my thank you / bonus page for more information. Do you think this is a good start to the subscriber / e-mail marketing relationship. They are getting a free report but the vendor is doing the explaining and selling - they then need to purchase the product to get the full secret.

I've put money into getting the report written and time into editing it, not to mention money and time into getting my squeeze page up (V4 currently and best converting).

I just want to make sure that I am working within ethical boundaries etc.

Thanks for your advice.

Paul

If you are questioning the ethics, then perhaps you need to step back and take another look.

It wouldn't even occur to me that there might be an ethical problem with my business... I simply don't run it in any way that might be construed as unethical.

    I deliver what I promise.

    It's that simple.

I help people... if you're delivering what you promise, and you're helping people, then it would be hard to find fault, right?

But I worry that you ASK the question...

Personally, I feel the report should deliver what it says it's supposed to deliver. Plain and simple.

Sometimes I see people give the whole system but offer shortcuts which is in the paid product. Other times, the freebie is one part of a system (but still in line with what was offered). I think in both cases it would be alright.

But end of the day, I agree with Ben that if you've got misgivings about doing what you are doing then perhaps you should take a step back and reevaluate.

    Thanks guys,

I appreciate your comments. I have changed the promise slightly. The report is full of good advice - but it really was preparing the client to go to the CPA page to make a sale.

I feel alot better about providing a free report with top tips. The client has the opportunity to view the video / or not - I don't direct them straight to the CPA offer.

    Thanks again for your help.

P.S - i;m having a new report written. Fiverr is so much cheaper than freelancer.com and I might actually get a report that I don't have to basically edit the whole thing!

    Thanks again,

      Hey Paul,
You might go back and look at some typos on that Squeeze Page. "Unwated" should be "Unwanted". To me just to be frank that is a huge turnoff.

Me as a prospect : I would say if you cannot take the time to make such an important headline error free then why should I trust that your Report is going to be that good either ?

      Just food for thought
