I'm getting ready to embark upon my first marketing campaign, selling a software service. I have an extensive list of leads..

What are some of the hardest about managing the campaign? Will I be flooded with questions? How do I manage all of these conversations?

I assume you mean email marketing campaign, then Tracking & tweaking is a labourious choir albeit an essential one.

You can eliminate the flood of questions by building a simple WP site with bit of content and more importantly a F.A.Q section, plus you have a comment section at the bottom, which you can control from the Dashboard.

Is it your list? Are they people who opted in because you're the person they wanted to hear from?

You appreciate that email marketing is permission-based?

The potential value of the list to you lies in the fact that you're the person from whom those subscribers want and expect to hear. They are your subscribers, are they?

The answer to all of these things, and other related questions, depends on how and under what circumstances they subscribed. Everyone who subscribes needs to hear from you on the day that they subscribe ... otherwise they'll start forgetting who you are, and your open-rates will decline, and your spam complaint-rates will rise. In what form do you have the list, at the moment? Is it in an autoresponder?
