Hello,

How long do you guys usually do your autoresponder follow-up series for?

I have a 16 day followu-up and then also broadcast everyday!

Thanks....

  • Hmmm...

    ...that's an interesting question.

Daily for the first three days.

After that I don't follow the 'guru' advice and email daily. Twice a week is enough for the type of subscribers I have, I find (mainly a buyers list).

What I DO do is provide very useful info. So it gives subscribers something to read thoroughly and think about and, maybe, inspire them.

I'll be subscribing to this thread to see what others do as, my feeling is, we're all using different tactics!
  • I space out the AR chains I write based on WHERE the prospect is in the buying cycle. Remember, people will only BUY from you if they TRUST you. For people to trust you, they must first like you. For them to like you, they must first get to KNOW you. I structure my AR chains this way. There are areas in the emails that allow people to skip ahead if they are already ready to commit. Still, the bulk of the text must stick to the KNOW-LIKE-TRUST-BUY process. Otherwise, you're just wasting your time and settling for cents on the dollar.

  • You are right.

Test, test, test...then test some more.

  • Email marketing, building distribution lists, maximizing open & click through rates, email deliverability, autoresponders, transactional emails, email triggers.
  • The people who sign up for the freebie get a 14 day follow up sequence where I promote the upsell in my funnel for the first 7 days, and the downsell for the other 7 days.

The people who buy my $1 OTO go through the same 14 messages.

The people who buy the upsell get 7 messages promoting the downsell.

The people who buy the downsell get 7 messages promoting the upsell.

    Emails go out every day.

Broadcasts are separate and usually go out 5 days a week.

Mine continue indefinitely - and so, surprisingly(?), do sales arising from them. (Admittedly it's very easy for me to do that, because I use article marketing as my primary traffic-generation method, and it's almost no work at all to add newer articles to the series, in every niche).

I have lists, in some niches, from which I earn more from "after" the 15th email than I do from "before".

I don't send mine daily, though. That decimates my open-rates and income. It all depends on demographics and subscriber expectation, though: what suits some business doesn't suit others.

My own income's significantly higher when I don't use broadcasts at all, for all the reasons explained here: http://www.warriorforum.com/email-ma...ml#post7301227

    • Send Follow ups every other day for 30 days ( it is an E Course).

After this I send 2 FUs a week with 2 to 3 Broadcasts during that time.

Those first 30 days of Follow ups are about 90% quality content with 10% promo in every FU.

(Actually, there are promo links in EVERY FU except 2. But they are "passive" signature links at the bottom.)

After the 30 days, I start doing short Broadcasts with more promotions involved.

I feel at this time I have earned my keep with my E Course and thus they are very receptive of these promo broadcasts.
