UPDATE Jan.20, 2011 The Challenge Is LIVE!



I've been thinking of reviving my annual '10 Day Blogging Challenge' this year, after a break of two years... so this 'Member Contests & Challenges' section looks like a GREAT place to announce it.

In a nutshell, here's the idea.

* You create a brand new blog (or use an existing blog).

* Within 10 days, you build it - and start making money from it!

No, not a lot. Maybe a dollar or two. But you start. And I show you a process to get there. It takes around an hour's work daily.

Most of the things can be done with FREE online resources - though you can speed up, enhance or automate the process if you can afford to spend some money.

Now, in the past I've done this two ways.

#1 - Participants pay $25 as a donation to my non-profit to join the group

#2 - Participants place a graphic button with a link back to my CHD awareness page - and contribute a donation, if they want to

In tough times like we're all facing now, it would NOT be fair to charge a dollar amount for participation - so I'm making this year's challenge FREE to join.

The course material for the 10 day challenge will be delivered by EMAIL ONLY - which means you'll have to sign up for an email list. Ouch!

If it's any consolation, my email newsletter has been considered valuable by a few thousand subscribers - plus it goes out with an unsubscribe link at the bottom which I ENCOURAGE people to click if they're not finding value... so you're not getting in over your head

Since the material is delivered by auto-responder, you can join in at any time within this challenge period - which will end on February 14th, 2011 which is "Congenital Heart Defects Awareness Day".

To make it a little more fun and challenging, I'll throw in 3 prizes for the best performing blogs.

First Prize: A link on the BLOG SIDEBAR of my IM blog, "Information Marketing Made EASY" - for 3 months. That's a sitewide link from a PR-3 (and growing) blog, valued at a few hundred bucks (at least).

Second Prize: A link on the BLOG SIDEBAR of the same blog - for 2 months.

Third Prize: A link on the BLOG SIDEBAR of the same blog - for 1 month.

But...


Here's how.

I will create a separate page (either on my blog, or on my CHD website) on which we will be showcasing EVERY participating blog, with title, description and a link back to the blog.

In fact, as you'll see when the challenge begins, a part of the process is linking to OTHER blogs in the challenge. And this means YOU get extra exposure.

Over time, this translates into more visitors, subscribers, and maybe buyers.

And that page stays up FOREVER.

As you can see from those links, dozens of people have participated in the "10 Day Blog Challenge" - and quite a few made their first online income during that period.

This year, it could be YOU!


From 2005, here are some data:

Only 168 members joined up in the first session - and there was no cost or fee involved. Here are some stats from that 'experiment':

- 86 blogs were created
- 37 people completed the 10 day program, 45 responded to a survey
- 20 of them had more than 25 visitors to their new blog
- 9 of them had made money in 10 days ($0.25 to $3.00)

Just noticed that this is closed. I am interested in this challenge. I make a full time living doing im with my ebook business. I actually work a minimal amount of hours, and I have been looking for other ways to diversifying my income.

I have several blogs but nothing making me anything substantial. I would love to see what I could do in ten days with your program. I have made money from blogs, but never in anything in 10 days.

Please let me know when you decide to start this challenge.

Yea I just finished with the day 2 tasks. My only concern is that this is the steps in day 2 aren't really going to be easy to reproduce away from this challenge. Getting 20 bookmarks on 3 bookmarking sites is something I'm not sure of the difficulty! Thanks for this though, look forward to going through with day 3.

One of the reasons for having this year's session on a forum (both here
and on my private forum) is so that participants can network and form
connections - that will last BEYOND the challenge!

Too often, we view online business as a 'solo act' (I'm guilty of this, myself!)

But every time I've tapped into the power of a network, the results have
been explosively greater. So lately, I've tried to foster these kind of connections
between my own contacts - so that they may network, mastermind, collaborate,
and create magic on their own.

How about if you contact other 'challengers' and make them an offer to be a
part of a longer-term partnership - so that every blog the team builds over
the next few months or years gets this benefit, going forwards?

No, it's not easy. I know. With YEARS of this, I've only managed to get
around 50 people aboard this challenge - but then, 50 is enough, from one
perspective, to create meaningful change in the future of a child

I would suggest continuing, as the approval may take a bit longer at times,
and even if it doesn't come through, you can always replace it with other
forms of monetization like ad banners for CB products or CPA offers or
even Yahoo ads.

It keeps the momentum going if you carry on - and that helps too

I have to say I was a bit skeptical when I joined this challenge...

I am glad now, I did. My site was indexed by Google in less than 48 hours, I already have my Adsense application approved, and I am about to submit an application to become an Amazon affiliate. Just wanted to say "Thank you" to Dr.Mani for organizing it.

I wonder if people are willing to exchange tips about their blogs. I would like to find out about ways to customize a theme, adding pictures to a header, fonts that look great, and so on. Let's use this thread as a wonderful resource.
