IM Beginner/Advanced March WSO Challenge Thread
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I was a fan of the challenge rizzy started a few months ago and decided to continue as well as expand on the tradition.

And March being the month I turn the ripe old age of 25, I figure it's a good time to get myself motivated and hopefully that carries through to everyone else...

Here's the challenge:

Post your goals for the month of March, and accomplish them.

Now I don't want generic "I'm going to work harder" or "I'm going to do more stuff" type of goals.

Be specific.
Be realistic.
Be measurable.

Now feel free to post goals on any topic as long as it relates to internet marketing, but I'd like to gear this thread toward WSO owners and people who would like to post their first WSO's.

Beginners and advanced marketers are welcome.

That's because my goal for the month of March is to pull in at least $30,000 in sales from my WSO's and WSO affiliate promotions.

I will keep this thread updated with my progress and challenges as well as help anyone who has the courage to publicly state their goals and take action on them.

This is a great opportunity to build JV partnerships and cross promote each others offers.

I think we can accomplish more with our WSO's together than we could as individuals.

The whole will be greater than the sum of it's parts...

So what is the prize, what do you get for participating?

1. You get the motivation of coming out publicly with your IM goals and being held accountable.

2. You get to work with, and JV with other WSO promoters who want to take things to the next level

3. You get the help and support of other experienced internet marketers, myself included.

- Reilly

My Progress:

Sales In March: $30,645.05

Still Needed: $0
Goal Achieved!

Launch the 9 remaining of 10 affiliate niche sites with a recent strategy I designed. All sites need to be up and running with content and working links, and the off-page SEO must be started.

Goal for March: 10 sites fully launched with content, on-page SEO, and affiliate products
Progress: 1 site

The one thing I like that you guys did was start to report on your progress. I'm making it a habit to update my progress every night and I KNOW I will succeed because of it.

We need to keep track of goals and not lose focus, I hope to hear more results from you guys soon!

Raised in March: $590

Needed in March: $1,410

I've got weird goals this month... the total above isn't for my own income, but I'm donating 100% of my income to this until I meet the goal. (I'll probably do a lump-sum donation at the end of each month.)

I want to earn $5,000 by June, so 2K this month would put me ahead of schedule and make my April and May a lot easier.

Also, it's gonna be pretty hard to fundraise this while keeping straight A's, lol. Let's see how this goes.

UPDATED: March 18th.

Passed the half way point of the month, I for one am falling behind on my goals due to concerns in my other ventures, but it's time to get into overdrive!

Hope you guys are ready to kick things into gear, I for one have 5 WSO's planned in the next two weeks which should be more than enough to accomplish the next 17k I need.

We still have 2 weeks left, lets get it done.

How's everyone doing?

My "minimum" goal is $1,000, so I'm pretty sure I'll make that much. I might even meet this ambitious goal of $2,000 donated.

I like this goal! A WSO could get you to your goal in a matter of days, especially if you include the charity in the sales copy. Just be careful paypal has STRICT guidelines about donations and will shut down your account if they see the sales letter (happened to someone I know).

If you need help with a WSO let me know, all the WSO's I've launched have done between 5k-10k. We could put something together quickly, get that $5,000 goal by the end of the month for charity.

Hi Jimmy! I am totally new to building a subscriber list. I have always relied on my current client base. My goal is to start building a list of new people. Realistically i'm not quite sure how many one can achieve in a month. Any suggestions?

This will depend on your target market, but I'll give you some tips that have helped me:

First you should realize that a buyer lead, in my experience is worth 10x a lead generated giving something away on a squeeze page. Selling something even for $5 at least verify's the lead has a credit card and is willing to use it.

Squeeze pages are the standard way to get prospects, personally I like to do it in reverse by giving away software and getting the lead when they register it, just has higher conversions.

At the end of the day you need to have a strong sales funnel in place and know what your lead and customer value is. The easiest way to come up with this is take all sales and commissions generated from a list and divide it by the number of subscribers. This gives you a value per lead that can help you budget your advertising.

For example if you average $3 in sales for every opt-in to your list, and you have a squeeze page converting at 50%, you can spend $0.75 per visitor in PPC or other traffic source and double your money. The size of your list is only then set by your budget, and by compounding the results you can grow quickly even with a small budget.

Now every lead source will convert differently so I track EVERYTHING for each lead source. With PPC I track down to the keyword level, PPV I track the sites the traffic are coming from, etc. You assign a value to each lead source based on the probability of the traffic becoming a lead, as well as the probability of purchasing times the revenue from a sale.

I track and split test everything, from the ads they click on, the email open rate based on the email subject line, click through rate on the email, and always adjust when I have a statistically significant result. This whole process can and should be automated so at the end of the day you can compare the value of each traffic source and the cost, allocating your money to the highest converters and getting rid of anything that doesn't make you money.

Here are some more specific ideas:

Solo ads here in the JV section as well as lead swaps,

Reverse lead capture using software, like in most of my WSO's

Doing a cheap WSO to get buyers

Products launches giving affiliates 75-100% commissions

Good old fashioned squeeze page getting traffic from SEO or PPC

Sharing something in the war-room, can't be a squeeze page but you can have an opt-in form on the thank you page

Creating a forum and having people who register automatically opt-in to your list (been working great for me recently, especially when combined with xrumer)

'Tell a friend scripts' - terrible lead quality but it can build a list

That's lead gen in a nutshell. If I think of any more ideas I'll post them

10 days left guys!!!!!

I hope everyone who posted has stuck to their guns, I for one need to do just under 12 grand more in sales.

That means an all nighter for me to try to get this next WSO out tomorrow and HOPEFULLY follow it up with one on Thursday.

Crunch time, failure is not an option.
