ENDED - Join Us Through January 2011 in "The Daily Thank You" Challenge
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Infuse Your 2011 With Positive Energy

Join "The Daily Thank You" Challenge

CHALLENGE RUNS FROM 1st to 31st JANUARY, 2010

.

No matter how bad things are, no matter how sad or disappointed or frustrated you're feeling, there's ONE THING guaranteed to flip it around and make you feel happy and at peace once again.

That's focusing on what's RIGHT... like the special PEOPLE in your life.

Just thinking about them puts a smile back on your face, a spring back into your step, a song back into your heart.

But how often do you tell them... "Thank you for being in my life"?

Well, how about doing that EVERY DAY in January 2011 - as a gesture of infusing your life with a sense of gratitude.

I'm inviting people I know, and who are willing to try this out for the next 30 days, to tell just ONE special person in their life every day - "Thank you".

For something.

In any way you like.

A tweet on Twitter, an email, a private message on this forum, an SMS message, a phone call, or maybe a postcard or a letter mailed in the post... or even in person, or via carrier pigeon!

It can be really simple. For example, just "Dr.Mani, thank you for starting this challenge!" (There, that would only take 10 seconds or so!)

The idea is to express your gratitude - and watch as the impact of that enriches every aspect of your life.

So... are YOU in?

Join "The Daily Thank You" Challenge.

Here's all you've got to do.
Starting today, and for the next 30 days, send a fellow Warrior who is special in your life a note saying "Thank you for..." (and explain what you're thankful for).

And then, after you've done it, come here and leave a short note saying you've done it (if you like, you may even mention the name of the Warrior to whom you wrote).
If even 30 Warriors join this challenge, we'll get almost 1,000 posts to this thread - and set off a ripple of gratitude that will spread far and wide.

Let's unleash a wave of gratefulness to get the New Year off to a flying start!

Join "The Daily Thank You" Challenge - today!

All success

I've had an 'unfair advantage' (or an 'accidental head start') over everyone else -
because I knew of this challenge while you had to wait until the thread got approved
for publication

So, in the meantime, I just went ahead and said "Thank you" daily to 3 Warriors:
Jan.1st - Willie Crawford
Jan.2nd - Harvey Segal
Jan.3rd - Paul Myers
Today, I wrote to Beth Kanter (not sure if she's a member here).

Whom will YOU thank today?

All success

Haven't exactly said "Thank You" but many thanks for a certain warrior who has continuously helped me without any reward for himself.

Jimmy (James) Reilly - He's been an amazing help for me over the past week and a half. Answering every question I've asked and even giving me ideas a few times.

Thanks James, your help means a ton!

I started on Jan.3rd by sending a PM to Alexa Smith just to say to her, "Thank You for always being there for me."

Truly, it has been proved over and over again that a heart of gratitude is never grounded.

Wow.. Thanks Dr. Mani!

I thanks many people DAILY. That's like a daily thing to me, that I can't live without it.

I thanked Caliban (CDarklock) for helping me out today, for showing me how to develop a simple sales letter.

I wouldn't have done it the right way if it wasn't for him.

There are so many others that I have thanked, but yea, Caliban was the first to come to my mind when I saw this thread

I've just thanked 2 other person. Both are warriors.

1) Andrew!
2) Jimmy Reilly

I thanked both of them for guiding me and mentoring me throughout my product creation period. Now that I'm having difficulties writing writing my sales page, both of them were kind enough to offer a quick look into my sales page, when it's finally done!

I can't thank them enough.

This is the wonderful part of life, giving and receiving!

Again, thanks for setting this thread up, Dr. Mani.

I want to thank so many people!

Don't know where to begin, but here goes:

1. Allah SWT - the Most Greatest and the Most Merciful - He has Helped me through so much - Thank You God so, so much.

2. My family - for all their unconditional love and support.

3. All my wonderful friends - for their love and some much-needed laughs when the going was tough.

And definitely Dr. Mani for starting this terrific thread.

Cheers

The first person that comes to mind is Gene Pimental. Just sent a thank you message to him for helping me out when I was in a bad situation. I'll never forget that kind gesture.

Dr. Mani, Thank you for creating this opportunity to say thank you.

Today, my Warrior 'Thank you' note went out to Giles, the Crew Chief -
for some awesome advice he sent me about back-linking.

I'll also be sending another 'Thank you' message to my good friend,
Gail Lynn Goodwin of InspireMeToday.com via email.

How about you - whom did YOU thank today?

All success
Dr.Mani

P.S. - I hope you're sending the 'thank you' notes to the person via
email, PM, or other means? Counting on them coming here to read
it seems rather uncertain, no?

@AidenChong, @GenePimentel, @GaryBurke, @PLRgirl, @Oosha - you're welcome

Gene, on a blog post in July last year, I explained my 'epiphany' -
when I realized something Seth Godin revealed in LINCHPIN applied
to my own work.

If you only realized how UNCOMFORTABLE it makes me to be in the
limelight about this work I do with under-privileged CHD kids,
you'll be surprised. Yet, that epiphany made me realize it has
to be done!

I deeply appreciate you taking the time to write about that impact,
and it is validation for making that uncomfortable choice - so thank
YOU, Gene

All success

Wonderful idea. There are many things in life we take for granted... It's so rewarding to take a moment to thank someone special in your life. I agree, your life will improve if you start doing it daily.

As for the WF, yesterday I sent a "Thank You" PM to prats2992. He was the first person I ever contacted directly on this forum and he was very helpful to get things started.

Send me a PM if you have any questions.

@rahnjoseph - Thanks, hope you find the daily Thank You exercise
fruitful.

@Oosha -

Every thank you message I send, creates a positive vibe for me.
Doesn't it?! I've always thrilled over the fact that thanking someone
or helping someone usually does MORE for myself than if I did anything
just FOR myself!

In my response to one of the people who replied to my 'Thank you' note,
I said:

You're welcome - and truly, I gain more from saying "Thank you"
than you and others do It is an energizing exercise, and I do
it first thing in the morning, which sets the tone for the rest of an

Dr. Mani,

Thanking someone who has been there for us or putting someone else's needs before our own, brings a great sense of peace. Your response to the reply is beautiful and says it all.

One of my favorite quotes is, “Every time we remember to say “thank you,” we experience nothing less than heaven on earth.”

It boils down to living life with an attitude of gratitude. But most of us are caught up with the trivialities of life or pine away because we have so little. It takes someone like you to remind us, to appreciate and look beyond ourselves.

Best,

Usha

Today, I sent my email 'thank you' note to one of my marketing mentors
and friends, Terry Dean.

Whom did you thank today? :-)

All success

I thanked Colin Theriot for giving me some kick butt thought. Learned about a new marketing mindset called the "premium reputation".

It's worth a lot more than his high end copywriting fees, in my opinion!

I just sent today's 'Thank you' message to social media rock-star,
and overall nice guy, Chris Brogan - who has helped with so many
of my initiatives by spreading word to his network on Twitter.

Who received YOUR thank you note today? (You did send one, right?) :-)

All success

I've only just found this challenge, but I'm jumping on board even though I'm starting a couple of weeks late.

Today my THANK YOU went to 'Regional Warrior' because he is a hero! He is out there helping out with the rescue during the Australian floods - a very brave man.

Take care

Thanked Alexandre Valois today because he gave me a tip on how I should avoid the extra noises that I had with the email lists that I've subscribed.

This should make me stay focused onto a project that I wanted to finish as soon as possible.

Today my THANK YOU went to 'Biggy Fat' because he's having a tough time and is always very hard on himself. Although he's always hard on himself he always offers advice and kind words to others.

Re: Join Us Through January 2011 in "The Daily Thank You" Challenge

Every morning, as soon as I wake up, one of the questions that
pops into my head is this: "Whom can I thank today?"

This has been one of the biggest benefits I've received from
this "Daily Thank You" challenge - because the surge of positive
mental energy that follows this initial thought, and the follow on
action of writing a 'Thank you' message to someone special in my
life, simply carries on for many hours - and sets the tone for a
very productive day.

In the two weeks I've been doing this, my average productivity
(which is already quite high) has shot up significantly - and
I attribute a part of that to the mood set by writing that thank
you note first thing in the morning.

And it is effortless. Not quite the chore I thought it might be
in the beginning. In fact, it has helped me recognize and
acknowledge support from so many wonderful people who have done
so much, yet gone unappreciated until now. Given what the
impact has been, I see this continuing all year long as a daily
activity - and hope you too are tapping into the power of saying
'Thank you' to someone in YOUR life daily.

So... whom did you thank today?

All success
Dr.Mani

P.S. - Today's thank you message from me went out to my friend
David Perdew, the brain behind the NAMS series of seminars which
are being widely recognized as the best ever in the IM niche
today.

Jay Abraham taught me something that's apparently paradoxical,
but actually makes a lot of sense, if you think deeply about it.
He said:

"The most selfish thing you can do is to be selfless."

In a business sense, it can be interpreted to mean that when you
deliver a lot of value to someone else, you'll be flooded with
clients and business, and grow your profits.

In a personal sense, I've experienced it to mean that when you
are in a state of gratitude and helpfulness towards others, you
often attract a lot MORE of that same into your life - and get
incredible support, encouragement and friendship delivered TO
you!

So much so that, even if you're a realist who views things from
a "return on investment" perspective, being kind, helpful and
grateful is a no-brainer choice!

I've enjoyed rich rewards from practicing it. This 'challenge'
is to try and encourage many more Warriors to tap into this
strange, powerful force.

From what I've seen on this thread so far, it has touched quite
a few lives

All success
Dr.Mani

P.S. - Whom did you thank today?

I'm drafting today's 'Thank you' note right now!

Today, I sent my 'Thank you' message to Nicole Dean, one of the
people who has been a strong supporter of my work with CHD
kids, as well as other initiatives I've taken up - and has also taught
me a wealth of things about online marketing.

So... did you thank someone today?

she sent me - thank you, Sheryl

Your welcome DrMani

Today my THANK YOU went to Ken Leatherman because he is such a sweet man and very kind and understanding. I do some work for Ken and was quite stressed yesterday when I got a nasty virus on my computer and as a result I was running late on my deadline - but Ken was very understanding and I really appreciate that.

THANK YOU KEN!
