It would be good if they moved this thread to the 'challenge' section and everyone could then record their progress - could help people keep on track!

Sheryl,
I did not know there was such an area!

Stupid me.

How do I go about getting it moved?

Thanks

I don't know if you could ask the mods to move it or even start a new thread in the challenge area perhaps.

Re: Can You Write 100 Articles in 100 Days? Prizes For All Who Do!

EA’s prizes are very silly. I have already received a mug, a mouse pad, a sticker for my refrigerator, etc. Perhaps just one good gift would be much better than various silly gifts in a package.

I don’t know if this time I will manage to write 100 articles in a 100 days for EA because I stopped writing articles for my blog on weekends, and I’m writing also articles about internet marketing and selling them very easily. I want to write more articles about IM, not only because I’m selling them but because I feel that I’m helping many people with my lessons.

However, I intend to write more articles about mental health for my blog (and submit them to EA too) when I’ll manage to organize a few things. If I had enough time I would write at least 5 articles per day and submit them to EA. This article directory is my best traffic generating method since 2007. No matter how much I try to do other things to send traffic to my websites, nothing beats ezinearticles. It really is the greatest traffic generating method online.

In order to get constant traffic for years from the same articles you’ll once submit to EA,
  • Your titles have to be very banal, repetitive, and nothing original. Each internet user is going to use the simplest terms in the search engines. Use always the most common and banal terms you can think about, like How to Make Money Online. Such phrases must be the beginning of all your articles. You should write more keywords in the second part of your title, and specify your topic. So, your entire title is going to be How to Make Money Online through Article Writing. However, your title must have something special that will attract your readers. Therefore, you are going to improve it a little bit and transform it into: How to Make A Lot of Money through Article Writing Online. This is your template.
  • The information you’ll provide must be very interesting. Your readers must feel very happy because they had the chance to read your article and learn something very important from you, the expert they were looking for. Solve simple problems in your short articles. Make the reader feel grateful and desire to learn more about your work. If you are not a good writer yourself, purchase articles written by a good ghostwriter, so that they may be displayed in the first pages of all search engines for years, sending regular traffic to your websites everyday. Think about 1000 articles sending you each one around 10 visitors per day, even though there are articles that may send you many visitors per day, and everyday, anyhow, think about all the free traffic you can have for years, without paying anything as you do when you have paid ads sending traffic to your websites.

Ezinearticles is the top article directory. There are many people that don’t like this article directory, but they must simply admit that it is the top one. It is one of the best free traffic generating methods online. However, if you’ll write silly articles, they won’t survive for long. Your articles have to be very good, very informative, essential, etc, and presented in a very compact form because everyone online likes short and substantial articles.

Don’t give too many explanations. Cut the explanations after writing each article. Your readers what to learn a lot, without having to read too much. Leave white spaces; don’t put everything in a paragraph. Write short sentences, without commas.

97 days to go

I've submitted 4 articles and have 2 published.

I'm tossing up whether to join with another author name and build 100 links to another site, or whether to just do it on the same one - will have a think about that overnight!

I guess I'm taking part in this; it looks like articles submitted after the "challenge" began still count even if you register now. 3 down, 97 to go. :p

I wish it would count articles across multiple pen names, though. I'm not sure if I'll write 100 articles under one name. Still, if nothing else, it's a good exercise in getting into the habit of writing something daily.

"Keep moving forward."

Yay, I should get upnto 8 articles submitted by the end of today! Also for any fellow newbies out there, the ezinearticles title suggestion tool rocks! Got an article approved last night and is already on page 2 of google for what should be a reasonably popular search term for my niche! Can't wait for someone to buy something off my site

I'm on track for my initial goal of 500, with 40 articles submitted so far. If I can keep the momentum up it won't be too long before I reach the first mini goal of 100 articles.

Good luck everyone.

Best wishes,
Sylvia

Thanks Sheryl!

I'm getting pretty good at writing quickly and my typing speed has picked up over the last little while so that helps as well.

I've reached a point where I can write 20 or so articles a day, so that helps as well.

Best wishes,
Sylvia

You're a writing machine! I've written and submitted 40 articles in the past 5 to 6 days, but not all have been 400+ words (about half). As far as word count, it's hit or miss with me. Sometimes, if I'm really into it, I'll shoot clear over 400 words without even blinking, ending up with a huge article. Then I have my days where I'm struggling to get out at least 300 on some articles.

In general though, I tend to keep most of my articles in the 350-400 range. For the niches I'm in, I've found my best CTR comes through those lengths.

Good luck on the road to 500 Sylvia!

Well, I got up to 7 articles in this challenge so far, although one got hit with the lovely "general error" problem article. Also just hit my 10th article so I can't even submit until they tell me why the rejected the 1 article! Plus they don't seem to review articles on the weekends either . Oh well, I can get ahead on my blog a little bit article wise!

How is everyone doing?

By the end of today I should be at around 60 articles. Almost to 100!

According to EZA'a facebook only 2 people have qualified so far, so there is still plenty of room for everyone to get into the winners circle.

Good luck everyone.

Best wishes,
Sylvia

Sylvia, you are a content-creating-machine! (I was going to say a "beast" or "monster", but didn't think that really should be used to describe a beautiful, talented article writer who cranks out quality and quantity)

Good going. I am at a very lazy 15 articles.
Need to do better!

Cheers

I could do this in a single day with my team of writers. I wonder what the prize will be though... I'd rather submit them to AC. At least I'd get a few bucks from them. :p

Thanks Patrick. Over the years I've gotten better at writing content. My brain seems to function better then it did when I first started writing articles. Plus my typing ability has come way up, making it easier and faster to complete the articles.

I'm basically on track for my 500 article goal right now. I've given myself a day or two cushion right now, but I want to try and increase that as life happens and I really want to reach my 500 article goal.

Best wishes and good luck,
Sylvia

IMHO, if you can not write one article a day, regardless of your work schedule, you do not deserve the mug or the increase in traffic and sales.

Trust me, I know a single mom with 2 kids who works 2 jobs and has completed all 5 HAHD contests.

If you need more motivation than your current situation in life, then maybe you are happy with your present circumstances.

The busiest person on the planet can take 15 to 30 minutes each day to write 1 article.

If you can not do this, then get very comfortable with kissing someone else's butt for the rest of your life, because you flat do not have what it takes to succeed at IM.

I know your knee-jerk reaction is to hate on this post, but I am simply telling you what I know to be true.

I walked 2 miles to and from a Library for 18 months using a free puter to teach myself IM because I was inches from homelessness and could not afford a puter or internet.

I have ZERO sympathy for someone who will not be in this forum or IMing 6 months from now because they tell me it is tough, or can't be done.

I did what I had to do, and I now make a living off of IMing.

Was it easy? No. Was my path easier than yours? I dare say that it wasn't.

I do not want to come off negative, but I still work 10 to 14 hours a day 7 days a week, because I BELIEVE.

My concern is if you can not write one stinking article a day, you have given up on yourself, and I pray that is not the case.

A lot of people will bitch at my post, but I hope even more people will sit down and get honest with themselves and take actionable "no excuse" steps towards freeing themselves from from the man.

CoolAromas
thanks, Patrick, that's what I needed

For all bloggers taking part in this challenge, here is a Wordpress plugin for direct submission of blog posts to Ezine, which I've just installed. I've used it to submit 2 blog posts and it works perfectly so far, thank God.

How is everyone going in this challenge? I have fallen behind and only submitted 17 articles so far so I need to get a move on and do a big catch up.

You’re doing much better than someone who submitted 2 or 3.
Delete the word only and you'll feel better. It's 17 articles, not only 17; it takes guilt, stress and pressure out of the picture.

Now go back to writing!

Just to say thanks for reminding us about this EZA rule.

Why do I see this thread now!

I might be able to do 100 in this short time. Not sure. I will have to think on that.

Good incentive to article writers though.

That is easy. Only 1 article per day. That is very manageable.

hire a few writer to produce 20 articles... and use spinner software to spind each to 5 article

20*5=100 articles already...

cost for each article is around $5 USD, but some said $5 USD produce non quality articles, it depends, at my country, appriximate $2.5 USD I can hire a good writers.

WOW! Talk about the breath of life! Facts are facts. This is what happened to JK Rowling. From what I understand, she was minutes from homelessness herself, then sat down and started writing on paper napkins. Look where she is now, the successful (and ultra rich) writer of the highly acclaimed Harry Potter books.

Thank you. I really needed to see your post as I know about having one foot in the street and the other foot on a sheet of cold slippery ice. Article marketing can be the key that opens an elusive locked door.

And all you need do is look at the last 3 Google algo updates to understand the power of good original content.

They used to loved 4 to 5 % key word density, then they changed to 3%, now 1 to 1.5% on article directories is the key, but 5% on an 800 word blog post (of a blog or site you own) is the sweet spot. But one thing that will never change is the need for content, either for your own websites, or for someone else's.

But as more people come into the internet marketing game, and the ones already in create more and more sites, more content is needed. And if all you possess is determination and resilience, you can figure out the rest.

6 months ago, I struggled to write 5 decent 400 to 600 word articles a day.

Now I write 10 by lunchtime.

It is just a process, and like anything else, if you respect it and treat it like a job, it will treat you accordingly. Any job I have ever worked at required a certain amount of time before I became proficient at it. This is no different; get those hours out of the way as quickly as possible.

If you treat it like a hobby, it will treat you accordingly as well.

Those people who say, "I don't have enough time" should keep a log of how much time they spend watching American Idol and the other crap on the Idiot Box, or sitting on a bar stool commiserating with other time-wasters, and wasting $5 or $10 every week on the lottery.

Believe me, I used to be just like them, and I know how easy it is to just give in to that life, especially when everyone is agreeing with all the excuses you are making. But I looked around one day and said, "Screw this!" And I lost several friends who seemed to go out of their way to almost "demand" I go hang out with them. It is sad to say, but some of your very best friends don't want to see you succeed, because it points out weakness in them.

And yes, J.K. Rowling would scrawl on napkins and notepads on the subway and buses she took daily, and she is now the 2nd richest woman in global entertainment, and the 12th richest woman in all of the U.K.!

Determination and Resilience.
I will not give up, and I will work harder tomorrow than I did today.

Bill Gates in the early 70s walked door to door 10 to 12 hours a day talking about a "personal computer in every home" taking investors of $10 and $20, and getting laughed at and ridiculed. But he did it every day, then went home and worked at night on his business.

He used to sneak out of his bedroom window at night and log time on a computer at a local university til 3 in the morning, then go home, sleep 4 hours and do it all over. I don't need to tell you how that worked out.

Determination and Resilience.
I will not give up, and I will conquer any set of circumstances that try to stop me.

Winston Churchill was an alcoholic trust-fund-wealthy loser who didn't take his life seriously until his 30s, when he entered politics. He arguably guided Britain through their toughest times, and did not become PM until 1940 when he was 66 years old.

Determination and Resilience.
I am determined to become someone, no matter how long it takes, and no matter how tough times get, I will press on.

Tony Robbins, motivator extraordinaire, was a job-hopping young man with no focus, until one day sitting in his apartment that was cold because he could not afford to turn the heat on, he asked himself, "Is this me? Is this really where I want to be in 20 or 30 or 40 years?"

He answered unequivocally NO! and started to discover the paths a person could take to change their mindset and focus. I'd say he did an okay job, and he has transformed millions of lives.

Determination and Resilience.
I will change what I am now, not tomorrow, not next week, but now, because I don't like it.

Anna Robertson was born in 1860, gave birth to 10 children, 5 of which she outlived, lived through the depression, and never amounted to anything publicly other than being a great mom and grandmom (two amazing achievements, I believe), until she was 77 years of age, when she was dubbed "Grandma Moses" by the New York Times for her amazing paintings depicting southwestern and country life termed primitive and folk art by critics.

She went to her doctor when she was 75 and told him her arthritis was too painful to go on. He recommended she take up a hobby to keep her mind on something else. She had never painted before, so she took it up.

Instead of giving up and waiting to die, she began to paint voraciously, every day, for hours, even though arthritis gripped her in its painful talons every minute. She now is known as the premier Primitive Folk Artist of her time. She bartered for paint, and could not afford canvases, so she painted on old pieces of wood she painted white.

Determination and Resilience.
I will not give in to the pain. I have no money, and no supplies. So what?!
If I will it to happen it will. I will make it happen, regardless of my circumstances.

At the end of 2010, the world population was roughly 6,852,472,823.

At any time on this forum there are between 2,000 and 6,000 people.

That means that you are among a very elite group of people, and you are quite truly 1 in a Million.

You recognize the power that internet marketing has to transform lives literally in a matter of days or weeks.

Don't let this incredible opportunity slip through your fingers because you didn't give it an honest effort.

Only you know if you are trying as hard as you can to free yourself from the rat race. But first you need to stop thinking like one of the rats, and begin thinking like the people we talked about earlier.

I sincerely hope anyone reading this the easiest, most failure-free path to success, but if you do indeed stumble and fall, what are you going to do?

Patrick

Hi
The contest is ending, I wish a lot of you won, this post has motivated me to start writing, today I got the approval for my first ever article in articlebase, it feels good. I was concern because do not know why, there was not link to my website in my article, but I edit it and republish, I hope that did the trick, waiting for tomorrow to see if the status of my article change or they send me any news!
I am also new in this community and I start liking you all.

Peace

Talk about timing! I was just telling someone earlier today about being challenged. Then what happens? I find this post and see that there are 10 days left before the contest ends. That means I have to write 10 articles a day between now and then. It never fails that when I'm determined to challenge myself, something comes along to test my resolve. Well, better get off this forum and get to typing!
