Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all 100 articles have to be submitted in the same pen-name? That rules it out, for me (and for many article marketers, obviously).

I submit about one article per day to EZA anyway, but I vaguely recall looking at the "registration" thing, the last time they did this, and deciding that I wasn't eligible, and I think that was the reason? :confused:

Yep,

I have several pen names, but I just write 100 under one name as well as my regular writing chores.

Just one a day, you can do it!

Yes, to the best of my understanding it is 100 articles per name. Last time I made it with 2 of mine, so that was cool. This time I haven't quite decided to go with 2 more or stick with just one.

But what OP said, this helps me stay focused.

I have this cool brain entrainment mp3 I listen to that I got a few years ago. I just pop on my headphones when it is time to start writing and the words come rushing out faster than I can type.

Pretty cool stuff.

You're absolutely correct.

"To qualify, all articles must be submitted under the same author name. Articles from multiple author names may not be combined. Members may qualify multiple times under multiple author names."

My personal goal for this one is going to be 500.

It's only 5 a day and I write on average 20 articles a day as is for myself and clients. I figure if I split it between 5 niches, that will be 100 articles per niche and should help me with my goals for this year. Heck, if someone were to really crack down and do ten articles a day, that would be 1k articles. Imagine the income and traffic boost that could come from that!

That's right. It's ruled me out of all the past challenges for the same reason.
I'm going to join this one though because I intend to submit 100 in one of my niches.

One of my article marketing coaching students wrote 100+ in HAHD 5 (he was a complete newbie) and he's now making $100 a day (pretty much on autopilot) in the niche he was writing in so it's worth putting in the effort.

If all you do is pump out 100 or 200 articles in a good niche, and focus on writing to qualify
FOR THE CONTEST instead of
WRITING FOR SALES it pays off.

Hey all, I'm incredibly new to article/internet marketing in general and am going to use this as a way to try and be disciplined on writing regularly. I have many goals on this and don't really care about the prize at the end as I know this will be a giant stepping stone for me. I actually was going to ask a question here but typing it out I think I figured the answer on my own! I'm going to start a separate blog to go along with this challenge and see if I can get a good niche going on something I'm passionate about!

Thanks for posting this here, I don't know if I would have seen it on ezine browsing like I have been! Hope I can succeed, writing an article a day sounds really hard, but hoping it will be easy for me by April!

Don't know about the "crazy prizes" for top authors. I see that you can write more than 100, but you won't get anything above the regular prize.

I never really jumped in on these, but I joined up for the heck of it. I started making some new goals for the new year and plan to pump out articles. Used to write a lot, but got caught up in building new websites last year so much that now it's time to fuel them with traffic and bring them to life!

Already submitted 20 articles that meet the criteria, but I'm also writing 5 to 10 articles daily at this point. My initial goal was 100-125 per month. If I stay at that, 300 to 375 articles should be bringing in some good numbers

*I also place articles on my website(s) and get them indexed BEFORE submitting them to EZA, as everyone should.

IMHO, if you can not write one article a day, regardless of your work schedule, you do not deserve the mug or the increase in traffic and sales.

Trust me, I know a single mom with 2 kids who works 2 jobs and has completed all 5 HAHD contests.

If you need more motivation than your current situation in life, then maybe you are happy with your present circumstances.

The busiest person on the planet can take 15 to 30 minutes each day to write 1 article.

If you can not do this, then get very comfortable with kissing someone else's butt for the rest of your life, because you flat do not have what it takes to succeed at IM.

I know your knee-jerk reaction is to hate on this post, but I am simply telling you what I know to be true.

I walked 2 miles to and from a Library for 18 months using a free puter to teach myself IM because I was inches from homelessness and could not afford a puter or internet.

I have ZERO sympathy for someone who will not be in this forum or IMing 6 months from now because they tell me it is tough, or can't be done.

I did what I had to do, and I now make a living off of IMing.

Was it easy? No. Was my path easier than yours? I dare say that it wasn't.

I do not want to come off negative, but I still work 10 to 14 hours a day 7 days a week, because I BELIEVE.

My concern is if you can not write one stinking article a day, you have given up on yourself, and I pray that is not the case.

A lot of people will bitch at my post, but I hope even more people will sit down and get honest with themselves and take actionable "no excuse" steps towards freeing themselves from from the man.

Out of curiosity, do the 100 articles need to be SUBMITTED by the ending date or do they need to be live on the site? I only just started adding articles to Ezine and I've been waiting several days for them to be reviewed (no Platinum account yet).

It sounds like they need to be approved to count, so you probably won't want to leave it right to the last day. If you submit 100 you should get your Platinum status anyway

You know I probably would if it wasnt so dang cold here at the moment. I havent even been able to do half of the work I normally do because it is about 60deg in my work area. Which too me is way to cold to do any kind of work. So I think I will be sitting this one out for now. Nt to mention their prize of bragging rights really doesnt do it for me. There is only going to be about 1000 people who actual complete the challenge you thing they could come up with a better prize then that. Like perhaps a free upgraded account to all those who complete the challenge.

Actually I could get out that 100 articles easily in a couple of weeks if I wanted to, writing them by myself.

Now a days however I would probably outsource most of them if I wanted to.

I wasn't moaning about the number of articles, I was moaning about the fact that you couldn't use your pen names to accumulate the 100.

I have 30 pen names on Eza currently and I do that so I can protect my niches that I promote.

I don't have a need to write 100 articles under one pen name based around one niche.

Thanks for the spiel but you missed the target with this one....

That being said....I'm still thinking of signing up just so I can get that damn mug!! (I've seen too many warriors showing theirs off over the years!)

Gosh that's a bit harsh. Don't you know there are many IMers making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year without ever writing a single article for EZA (or any other directory for that matter)?

I'm a huge fan of article marketing and have thousands of articles on EZA but have never managed to pass a HAHD challenge. With 20+ pen names it's not that easy. While everyone else was busy submitting 100 articles to HAHD 5 I submitted well over 600 - just not in the same niche.

Article writing is NOT the be-all and end-all of Internet Marketing.

I suspect I'll probably make it, but I'm sure not going to worry about it.

The problem comes down to the pen name issue. 100 articles is no big deal, but doing them in only one of my niches might be.

Of course I'm throwing around the thought of creating a new pen name, choosing a really atrocious sounding CPA offer, and just having fun writing whatever I want as fun, no monetary thinking at all, and linking to a redirected .info domain pointing to the CPA offer. Probably would not make a penny, but might clear my mind of lots of opinions, stress, and off the wall thoughts....

I actually agree. I joined ezine right when I first started this adventure and had my mug right after my 10th article was approved...never had an article kicked back and still haven't.

I think that everyone should at least learn the basics of writing and should know how to write articles even if you don't like it or do it yourself. Not to mention, writing one article a day is not hard at all.

Been working on this now for the last few days. Still very new to the whole internet marketing deal and am using this as a way to get a LOT of content on my site in a pretty quick period of time. I'm still working on getting my time down for article writing (takes me about two hours to come up with a draft). But anyway I've got 4 articles on my site (I've submitted them as well since my basic membership takes a few days to get articles approved)!

Thanks for posting this here as I would not have seen it otherwise I don't think! My goal is simply 100 articles in 100 days, but hopefully I go above and beyond that number.

edit - I'm also curious as to why they are making this the final installment? Seems like a popular competition they have been running. My real question on that is what EzineArticles is planning on running after this competition is over, maybe something even more awesome?

Share on: Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all 100 articles have to be submitted in the same pen-name? That rules it out, for me (and for many article marketers, obviously). I submit about one article per day to EZA anyway, but I vaguely recall looking at the "registration" thing, the last time they did this, and deciding that I wasn't eligible, and I think that was the reason? :confused:

This time I haven't quite decided to go with 2 more or stick with just one. But what OP said, this helps me stay focused. I have this cool brain entrainment mp3 I listen to that I got a few years ago. I just pop on my headphones when it is time to start writing and the words come rushing out faster than I can type. Pretty cool stuff.

I figure if I split it between 5 niches, that will be 100 articles per niche and should help me with my goals for this year. Heck, if someone were to really crack down and do ten articles a day, that would be 1k articles. Imagine the income and traffic boost that could come from that! Best wishes and good luck everyone. Share on: Hey all, I'm incredibly new to article/internet marketing in general and am going to use this as a way to try and be disciplined on writing regularly. I have many goals on this and don't really care about the prize at the end as I know this will be a giant stepping stone for me. I actually was going to ask a question here but typing it out I think I figured the answer on my own! I'm going to start a separate blog to go along with this challenge and see if I can get a good niche going on something I'm passionate about! Thanks for posting this here, I don't know if I would have seen it on ezine browsing like I have been! Hope I can succeed, writing an article a day sounds really hard, but hoping it will be easy for me by April!

I never really jumped in on these, but I joined up for the heck of it. I started making some new goals for the new year and plan to pump out articles. Used to write a lot, but got caught up in building new websites last year so much that now it's time to fuel them with traffic and bring them to life! Already submitted 20 articles that meet the criteria, but I'm also writing 5 to 10 articles daily at this point. My initial goal was 100-125 per month. If I stay at that, 300 to 375 articles should be bringing in some good numbers *I also place articles on my website(s) and get them indexed BEFORE submitting them to EZA, as everyone should.

Share on: You know I probably would if it wasnt so dang cold here at the moment. I havent even been able to do half of the work I normally do because it is about 60deg in my work area. Which too me is way to cold to do any kind of work. So I think I will be sitting this one out for now. Nt to mention their prize of bragging rights really doesnt do it for me. The problem comes down to the pen name issue. 100 articles is no big deal, but doing them in only one of my niches might be. Of course I'm throwing around the thought of creating a new pen name, choosing a really atrocious sounding CPA offer, and just having fun writing whatever I want as fun, no monetary thinking at all, and linking to a redirected .info domain pointing to the CPA offer. Probably would not make a penny, but might clear my mind of lots of opinions, stress, and off the wall thoughts....

Still very new to the whole internet marketing deal and am using this as a way to get a LOT of content on my site in a pretty quick period of time. I'm still working on getting my time down for article writing (takes me about two hours to come up with a draft). But anyway I've got 4 articles on my site (I've submitted them as well since my basic membership takes a few days to get articles approved)! Thanks for posting this here as I would not have seen it otherwise I don't think! My goal is simply 100 articles in 100 days, but hopefully I go above and beyond that number. edit - I'm also curious as to why they are making this the final installment? Seems like a popular competition they have been running. My real question on that is what EzineArticles is planning on running after this competition is over, maybe something even more awesome?
