I have been trading forex and commodities for the last 8 years so know a fair amount about foreign exchange, trading and derivatives. I am looking for a HOT topic that I can write a report about and add some value to the forex traders out there, as well as increate my optin rates on the way. I think this would be valuable to everyone as you can easily make a 5-figure income with reports in forex. I am looking for a topic thas is *complementary* to most forex trading robots and signals out there - a nice "add-on" that anyone trading forex finds hugely valuable, no matter what trading system/robot they are following. I'll get the ball rolling with a couple of ideas: - 10 Killer time magament techniques for traders. A lot of traders spend the whole day at home in isolation watching the markets. Time management can be an issue as the markets can get pretty boring and it's easy to get distracted. A report giving them 10 tips they can implement today to maximise their productivity and profitability whilst making sure they are always 100% mentally alert, keep fit and have fun in the process! - How to track your trading profits and losses. A lot of systems tell you how/when to trade, what target profits and losses top set, etc but no systems helps you track your profits and losses and risk metrics over time. This can get especially messy if you have more than one broker account. This would be an Excel spreadsheet where you could type in every trade you do and see your profit/loss Keen to hear your ideas. The winner gets $40 Paypal. Thank you |

I have been trading commodity options for 10 plus years. I just finished my first year in the FOREX. I have left the charts going and been stuck watching the ticks go by that is mind numbing. So here is a few ideas that work for me. No robots, fancy formulas just focus. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are the best days to trade. 0800-noon eastern time is the best time to trade. Right off the bat you have eliminated a ton of time in these 24/7 6 day a week markets. This time frame gives you some exposure in two markets London 0300-noon and New York 0800-5pm. You will find a lot more activity when more than one market is opened.

One interesting topic would be the trader's mindset. I have read and heard people saying the having the right mindset in Forex is almost as important as the trading strategy (I don't know if that's true). Time management tips for Forex Traders would also be and awesome topic for those interested in Forex. There you are! Two topics instead of one. Can I pm you my Paypal? Just kidding When does this contest finish? |

You are spot on...mindset is at least as important as "hard" trading skills, and yes, there is a lot that revolves around time management especially for those who trade from home Some traders develop some "time management routines" and go as fas as saying that their profitability changes the moment they change the routine... This will be open for a few more days still - thanks both for your ideas Let the best one win! |

Knowledge of self vs. knowledge of the markets. Sometimes the market can be a perfect market and you still make a major mistake that can cost you money. Why? Because the TRADER is not ready for profit, even though the market is. Case in point. A long time ago I placed a cotton trade. Overall it was a bad idea, even though the market conditions were good, due to the fact that I was having a relationship problem that stressed me out. So while there was plenty of action and market movement, the truth was that I should have taken a day off from trading because my frustrations in my personal life were getting in the way of my trading. Of course, my ego was almost more heavily invested than my trading account, so at the time I wasn't about to let a "little" relationship issue stop me from trading! Most people say you should know the market. But traders also must know themselves and their tolerance or stress levels and how they affect the decision-making process. |

I think it depends on who you're writing to. If it's rank beginners like me, who know what Forex is but that's about it, then how about something like, "How To Invest In Forex And NOT Lose The Shirt Off Your Back" Somehow, I don't feel quite qualified to suggest anything more sophisticated. Dot |

I know a little about FOREX, nothing too deep. I don't mess around with it too much because after all, it is trading, which can be rather risky to unexperienced people. I would personally love to see a report on how to trade with minimal risk, or acceptible risk. One of the main reasons I don't get more involved is I am afraid to lose. Perhaps a report showing how to advance in trading, better understand risk, when to take risks & when to avoid them would be very helpful to others. I think it would gain a lot of traction if it provided answers & advice for the above. There are other great ideas in this thread, so I look forward to seeing who wins. Maybe there would be a way to combine a few of the ideas in here, just an idea. |

Hi Ak200, Not sure if you are looking for ideas but here are a few: Risk management and successful forex trading. Winning trading strategies for the complete newbie forex investor. Step-by-step forex trading guide. Successful Forex trades. Understanding technical analysis for successful forex trading. I would also recommend a short video of your trading so that people could see what it's all about. I just love to see the charts going up or down, depending on the events and how they affect the currencies. Wishing you the best. Joe |

Thanks for the ideas everyone...from what I read there seems to be a "global" theme around trading strategies and guides for forex, how to invest, risk management and technical analysis...technical reports in general Casting the net a tad wider, do you think something around psychology of handling losses or time management for traders would fly? Cheers! |

Hi ak2000, although I have not been involved in trading or forex so far, the topic is really attractive worldwide. As a beginner though, I would be interested mostly in how to get started in forex using the right tools. I mean, if you put forex in search engine, you will find plenty of pitches telling you how to trade using their system, and I see so many trading platforms having no clue what is the difference among them. How about giving a report to the interested readers outlining the basic strategies and tools they can use immediately and then follow with whatever you have for them and feel that will add value and profit to their trading? Anyway, the time management and profit tracking ideas seem equally interesting. |

In my opinion psychological topics would be right. It all depends on how you "sell" them the idea. In the squeeze page you should convince them to optin and then explain why psychological factors are as important (or even more) than the technical knowledge. Can this be a good headline? "The Number One Trading Secret That Will Make You LOSE Your Money... Even If You Are Not And Expert Technical Trader" Then in your report talk about the time management, mindset and all the psychological aspects of trading, and explain why even the "experts" could lose their money if they don't know how to manage those aspects. If the report is to promote a trading robot, you shouldn't sell them on lots of technical information, they don't need it. Isn't that the purpose of a trading robot? (that people can trade without lots of knowledge about trading) Just my opinion | |

Hi Ak2000 re your: Casting the net a tad wider, do you think something around psychology of handling losses or time management for traders would fly?" I think this is a very good area but you may not get much interest unless you already have a good following. I'm working on an article on this, as we speak, and should have it up within a couple of days, that addresses just this topic. But that's beside the point I think that this area falls under the umbrella of risk management. Ego, knowing when to ride the winning investments, knowing when to bow out of a losing one, and so on. I believe all that falls under that category so any report or article about it should be welcome, I'm sure. One book that I am amazed about that covers this like no other is John Hayden's "The 21 irrefutable truths of trading". This book was published quite a while back but still seems as relevant today as it was when it was first published. I hope this helps. Have a fantastic today. Joe |

Hi Antipot, Forex or foreign exchange currency investing is a way for people to invest in specific currencies, or money, to get a return on their investment. Forex bots or forex robots are supposed to be able to trade for you. All you need to do is set the parameters and the robot does the job for you. There have been a number of investors that have made a decent income from these and the advantage they have is that they just do the job, no fear, no pride, no cares. Whatever you tell them to do, they do. Forex is a funny investment arena for several reasons. The main one is that you can get started with a very small amount of money. But like any other investment, you can lose it all if you don't know what you are doing. Have fun |

Hello. I traded in the forex markets for a short time ... loved it but it didn't love me. Plan to get back in it again after a while. I think a great topic would be: How to start over after a devastating loss! They say that 95% of traders lose money trading forex. So your target audience would be vast and you could cover some of the practical and psychological aspects of the topic. Many traders come right back and lose more money. Many others just go back to whatever they were doing before they started trading forex. It has been written about before, I'm sure, but it is current, relevant, and flexible enough for you to approach it from any number of perspectives. I'd read it. Hope this helps. |

I think realistically you could write somehting to manage people's expectations and try and give them some kind of roadmap for long term success. From what I've experienced in my trading is the stupidest losses I've incurred have almost always been from over trading. Taking 'so-so'/B-C-D grade setups instead of just sticking to the A/A+ ones (I trade discretionary price action with no set technical system) When I was trading indicator based systems I'd sometimes 'jump in early' when the MA's were touching but hadn't crossed or 3 out of 4 indicators were in agreement but not all of them etc. This was all a result of impatience, boredom and trying to reach over aggressive profit targets rather than just accepting what the market gave me. I was trading well then giving back all my profits and then some by getting cocky and over expectant. Eventually I threw my money management rules (2%) out of the window and soon after the account was all gone. A robot will never do any of this... You could write something about realistic expectations, money management and how our own demons are our own undoing. |

Well some traders develop some "time management routines" and go as fas as saying that their profitability changes the moment they change the routine.

What a rip-off. Thanks for an interesting contest. I'm so glad you got a lot of ideas on what to do to create content for free. By now, you should have made a few thousand dollars in adsense, clickbank, commission junction. (Those were hints!) When you get a chance, feel free to let everyone know why, oh why you have not picked a winner! Oh, wait, you lost your knickers investing in forex! Sorry, I lost touch with reality there for a minute. I was dreaming of making millions in my sleep overnight without a website, blog, or any knowledge. Fortunately I woke up. It's back to the corner with the "will you spare a fiver so that I can get a beer?" sign. Hopefully no one else has taken that corner, it's been profitable for me lately. So, the next time you are driving on your expensive italian sports car on your way to your internet acquired mansion, with the three thousand rooms with a southern view, spare a dime, for a poor slob who lost it all to the Internet Bubble, won't you? thanks much, Joe |

Hey Warriors! Just read this great post about Forex Trading. I'm about to develop a site geared around the Forex world, but know nothing about it. Crazy, right? I know. I bought a domain for the value of advertisers, keywords, cpc value, etc. I'd love to get some insight from those that understand the world and see if there would be a way to team-up on the site together. I'm more or less looking for someone to write unique articles for the site and in return would revshare on any income. The domain alone has already prompted some interest from similiar type companies wanting to advertise their Forex product/services. The domain is forextradewiki dot com Thanks! |
