I am in the UK.

Recent explosions are:
Precious metal exchange (Companies buying gold and silver from the public in return for money)
Short term loans (Up to 30 days)
As suggested above by LastRites - group deal websites are also exploding in the UK

Very current explosions:
Music streaming services

This have obviously been on the increase for a long time, but recently I have noticed massive increases in the number of people using websites like Last.fm, Hypemachine, Grooveshark, SoundCloud, MixCloud.

This is a good example of what I need! Thank you for your ideas and suggestions! But I'm still not satisfied with none of them, because they are already implemented or exploding in my country.. Please give me more information! :)

by the time these ideas have occurred and become apparent to the users on Warrior, it's too late to jump on board. It's like surfing a wave- you need to be ahead of it to ride it.

Re: [CONTEST - Win easy $100] What BUSINESSES are exploading in YOUR country?

Why buy when you can share, trade, or rent? That's the idea behind collaborative consumption which is a trend that is exploding right now and it's led to a number of web based start ups. Some examples are car sharing relayrides.com, dwelling rentals airbnb.com (Forbes says Airbnb will pass Hilton sometime this year in amount of rooms), book sharing bookhopper.com, clothes trading swishing.com, skillshare.com which lets people make money and share by teaching skills to eachother, and swap.com where people can list anything they can think of to trade for others to make offers on. Swap.com's membership has doubled in the past year and there's even an iPhone app that lets people at the mall scan barcodes to see if it's available at swap.com.

Another thing that's trending is living buildings which may explode in the near future. The Bullitt foundation is constructing a six-story office building in Seattle that sets out to be the most energy efficient in the world due to be open this fall. It's supposed to process it's own sewage, use solar power, collect and purify it's own water, adjust temperature by opening/closing windows, maximize natural light by reflecting it onto the ceiling with external shutters, and is made with construction material devoid of such things as plastic, mercury, lead, cadmium and other hormone-mimicking chemicals.

Finally headphones, speakers, and wireless audio is growing fast and there is a lot of new technology being developed in that right now. Wireless speakers you can carry with you and set to play whatever music is stored in computers, ipods, smartphones, etc. wherever you go is getting big. Wireless headphones and mp3 players are really trending as well. The Sony W Series Walkman, Sennheiser RS 220, Bose SoundLink wireless speakers, and Altec Lansing InAir 5000 are good examples of these products.

Re: [CONTEST - Win easy $100] What BUSINESSES are exploading in YOUR country?

I think something that will explode in my country is fashion online retail segment which has over the past two years been slowly making its presence felt on facebook. I have seen a few small retailers with stalls in the city build strong followings via social media because they are able to build brands that are more tailored to certain tastes and trends. I hope that in 2012 the small stall owners realize that

(Idea 1.) (Lookbook for dresses with strong social integration)
1. Facebook just won't cut it when it comes to online retailing, so someone (me/entrepreneur) needs to build a site on the rails platform that is social friendly, easy to list items, great payment platform and gateway to handle sales while taking only a small cut of list price, maybe 9%. Fulfillment is a big issue obviously but merchants who list products should do product shipping, preferably for free, to customers.

2. Small vendors can individually and collectively do more and make more than big retailers not only because they are smaller and more nimble but because between them they have so much more selection and choice and this attracts more clients.

(Idea 2.) ( Make dresses)
The only greater advantage to a retailer than more selection available to clients is customization. Fashion customers love customization, and though it is hard to do online or even offline it is the key to any successful business in the creative industry ( think design, art). People are willing to pay much more for unique items that are not widely available and will pay more if they find something matching their tastes that they can have to be customized (think embroidery, differnet color, add/remove straps, etc)

Now, i have been thinking about customization and where in fashion it could be used to disrupt existing markets and create an explosive new business and i thought to myself - dresses. And not just to affiliate for some big shot fashion company, but to have a relationship with the factory making the dresses so that there the blogger (me) can give feedback and request special designs that i feel would resonate with the audience.

Now, i am under no illusions that this easy or even possible, but i still dream of a site where a pretty gal will go to my site (i think http://dress.es was up for sale a few months back) and find a small catalogue of dresses and she can choose which material and patterns that she wants it in.
Women love and buy many dresses, if you are involved in any way with the club scene you will notice how women have such a wide variety of dresses and off course they have many more at home and when they see other women in nice dresses they think of how much they wish the dress was theirs or how it could be improved.

The idea isnt fully formed, and it will most likely not be fully customizable in the sense that someone can start from scratch and design their dress, but it will be customizable in terms of measurements and complimentary designs like minimal additions like double strap vs single strap, skirt length, etc

(Idea 3.) (3D printing and its overrun of Manufacturing)

Well, the overrun hasnt happened yet, but we are looking forward to it. Just imagine a factory floor that is printing products that are perfect and flawless and when a certain section of the machine fails you can print spare parts for it right there and get it back running. Now, 3D printing has been around for three decades and was used mainly to print prototypes for companies to get a feel of what they are creating, Timberland boots use it to print shoe sole protypes that help them better design shoes, i know Nike uses it, F1 cars have the entire body printed so that they can test aerodynamics before actual production, Jay Leno the American comedian has a vintage car collection and he 3d-scans various body parts that has printed out for replacements. In the future, when your car gets into an accident you will just have 3d-scan of the damaged section sent to you for replacement.

Now, while it seems cool for the future it also has some very amazing applications today like printing body organs. Today there people with bladders that are printed, soon they will able to print a lung and a heart, which isn't very unfathomable because they already have materials that human cells can grow into, so when they print out things like knee sockets and prosthetic arms the human tissue will grow around it. Now, to print a heart means to print mostly human cells and also replicate the complex system of capillaries, veins and arteries that are the "heart" of the body's blood distribution system. The good news is the complex network can be printed using laser which, as you know, is amazingly precise.

3D printing of organs, so awesome, because there is such a great organ shortage ever since modern medicine and surgery made it possible to replace deficient parts of the body. Check out more videos of 3D printing on ted.com

So, what about us, online marketers and merchants of digital goods, how can this be of importance to us? I don't know yet but i have great dreams for this industry and where it will go. Check out shapeways and mgxbymaterialise , which are two companies that take 3d print orders, also check out the discussion on Quora.com to see the state of the 3D industry so far ( just google "3d printing quora")

Thanks Moneyrr, and feel free to contact incase you want to talk some more about these ideas or some of your own.

Re: [CONTEST - Win easy $100] What BUSINESSES are exploading in YOUR country?

1. Small and medium sized business like internet cafe business, vending machines (automated water machine, coffe machines, etc) are booming here. This is one of the most affordable business that people can put up here. And there is a wide market considering that a lot of people need to access the internet at lesser cost (that is why many here are putting up an internet cafe, coin-operated PCs). On the other hand, vending machines are popping up, because many people are on the go. That is why there are many vending machines offering not just water but anything else to meet the needs of the consumers. Everyone is in a hurry, everyone is busy and in these type of business, you don't have to closely supervise it.

2. Printing business (be it SMEs or bigger ones) are also exploading. I just noticed it these days, especially that many businesses already recognized the needs of print ads. Be it tshirt printing, tarpaulin printing or any other printing stuff, if you're here in the Philippines, you can see that this type of business is really exploding.

3. Food business (usually franchise business) also tops the list. Be it a small food business or a franchise type, people here love food and, well, food is one of the basic human need. More and more of this type of business is increasing here.

What businesses are exploding RIGHT NOW?

I'm in Philippines,

There is this trend of car shows event sponsored by different companies such as Shell (the oil company). I think they benefit on exposure to people who are interested in cars specifically car parts that are good for car shows such as corinthian leather, matte car accessories, and other stuff. Drag-racing is also booming in some highly industrialized locations in my country.

Other trend here in my country is multi-level marketing, its exploding like mushroom infestation because of the number of schools and students involved and most of them are very active. Companies such as Global Fusion Incorporated and Royale Business Club.
