Dee J Kumar's 12 weeks Blogging challenge
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

They say 12 weeks can change your life...

So here is a 12 week challenge that will change your blogging life forever.

If like the younger me, you have struggled to blog regularly for a long period of time, then here a challenge for you.

I want you to blog each week without fail for 12 weeks.

Each week you simply come here, and tell the world which week of the challenge you are on and if you wish maybe even link your article.

So simple - but powerful. By the power of accountability, you can help create a very good habit.

Lets get started!

Hi Dee,

Great challenge. I think I'd committed to myself to blog every week, that's why I've been at other blogs these past few weeks learning their blogging styles, and boy, have I learned many things. Thanks, I might take you up on your offer, but cannot put links yet, but I will soon enough.

The link to your article isn't working. Also, when I went to your site, did a search, and found the article link, and clicked on it, the post still didn't come up.

Possibly not but the challenge remains and the accountability works.

Why not give it a try

@Ronnie

We have been working on the smartphone app for some months and have 2500+ users in our test phase, so it's pretty easy to get our fans from true users of our app. (Of course the first 40 or so we begged for from family and friends liking our pages!)

Our blog has an initial foundation due to our free smartphone app for video gamers, but it started as nothing. We begged the first 30/40 to join us and then we used that small 'social proof' along with a small ($150) spend on Facebook ads to begin building the fan base... then last month we created the blog and only in the last 2 weeks have we started adding good content.

We have a long way to go but trafic is increasing.

I can't comment on the app gaming functionality as that's not my bag but god luck with your launch. Good luck with your launch, I'm sure it will be amazing

I've just finished another post on my blog, think this is the fourth or fifth week now of Dee's blogging challenge and my traffic is climbing steadily.

How to make a website with your own domain name This is something many are guilty of as many people pick up a domain name but then take no further action, I know I've bought many domains after some keyword research but never implemented them due to conflicting priorities.

I've added another post on my blog.

What is the best keyword density for writing good SEO content in 2013

There used to be an SEO trend of keyword optimizing your content to better present it to the search engines for better ranking and there was a whole plethora of plugins to help with this purpose.

I investigated if this is still the case in 2013.

Check it out, appreciate any comment love, likes or feedback.

Hi Shane,

I've used Adfly in the past and as you outline it is very low cost.

I got good value from it for low cost to be able to split test a squeeze page before pushing higher value traffic through it.

I'd be interested in your update on the targeted traffic.

Phil

Just a little stat from our blog (WewanaPlay) - we only really started blogging a few months ago but we post 2 blog posts daily (mainly picture orientated and no content rich) - we have had 25% increase in traffic week upon week... it's crazy. We can double daily traffic every two and a half week, with each person viewing over 2.5 pages on average per visit.

Blogging works if you keep it consistent... get blogging!

Update on my Wewanalay blog stats again. In early May I told you how we had doubled our website traffic by just posting two simple blog posts a day for 2.5 weeks.

Well, it's about 3 weeks later then that update and we did it again!

We were lucky enough to be linked to from a number of influential sites but we slowed down our blog post releasing to just one a day...

The last week we have posted no new blog posts to see if that causes a slow down.... will let you know what happens - but the moral is here is be consistant and things happen.

Alright great challenge! I'm already in

Just started a blog 3 weeks ago and am writing about 3 articles a day only targeting long tail keywords.
Here are the stats so far:
- 50 unique visitors from google a day (have other sources too but this is from the blog only)
- Alexa rank 179000 and comes from couple of million 3 weeks ago
- 1 sale on average the past week or so.

So yeah blogging works
If i keep it up it can only increase and maybe become a full time income in 12 weeks
I'll keep you updated!
Jens

Ok, so some results. We stopped posting new blog posts for a few weeks to see what would happen. We lost 20% of our traffic - it was pretty dramatic. Traffic stayed at that level consistently for two weeks until we were sure it was a true change and not some one off event, at which point we have started adding a post a day again.

The traffic is slowly creeping up again but we took a big knock for not posting regularly.

Let this be a lesson people - stay consistant and your traffic will rise - stop being consistant and you will be penalised and be worse off.... yet another reason to stay motivated to the cause.
