Try building a few sites and see how you find the process and then come up with your grand plan. It's great to have a strategy moving forward but just remember that nothing will happen if you don't take action.

If you're new to this the best thing you could do is just write, write, write. Or alternatively outsource, outsource, outsource, curate and post.

Hi Kyle,

I think it is always best to own the platform you are posting on as it gives you control over your content. However you don't need to have a website to start earning money with Amazon, you could definitely use a platform like Squidoo or Hubpages to get started.

Duplicate content will hurt your SEO (aka free traffic).
And besides of that, if all you do is copy & paste, where's the added value?
Why would someone read you're website and pay attention to your content?

I had a break for a while as I had made exactly $0 in my 30 day challenge.

The challenge was an interesting experience and I learned a lot from it.

Anyhow earlier this month I created a page with links on my site not expecting too much but I am delighted to say that someone ordered a good sized product through my links.

My goal now is to add linked content somewhere else where I have posted a review and to increase the size of the transaction monthly.

Keep an eye on my blog.

Hi everyone I'm back!

I've actually missed being part of this thread over the last six months. Long story short is that I've been focused on offline work with a new client. SEO/PPC management etc. Cool company.

Anyway.. I know some of you are hungry for an update. I'm still earning with Amazon, haven't touched it for ages now and every month I'm able to bring in $350-$400 from the work completed by this initial project. In January it peaked at $745! I am still amazed at this. I should be getting my Jan Amazon coupon in the next couple of days and have already decided what to spend it on

Some months only brought in $250 odd so peaks and troughs.

I've been moving away from Amazon/Organic Search driven sites more recently as I think there's too much reliance on the big G for traffic and stability. I'll still keep what I've built but won't be adding any more.

Aside from client work I am currently in the process of growing a drop-ship ecom website and using Adwords to drive traffic to it. I think this is a more sustainable, scalable and ultimately sale-able business model. I've gone so far as to get myself Adwords Certified so I can nail it. Adwords is my new big shiny object.

Anyway, Amazon is still a great little earner and done properly by focusing on providing a great experience and valuable information to your audience, something that can make you a little extra money every month. If you're interested I am running a case study similar to my Amazon one on my Drop Ship/Adwords internet business. As always just check out my IM blog.

Great updates tombong, you should try setting up a Blog to help keep you accountable and to share lessons learnt.

To answer some questions. My niches vary however most income comes from a high ticket electronic niche. While commission on electronics are capped at 4% often I'm selling items worth over $1k. I also sell LOADS of technical books.

I've always tended to try and promote items that I have a genuine interest and expertise in (you might be able to tell that I'm an IT geek from way back). It's key to keep adding value value value and create something unique. The spun/low-value thing is short-term shotgun IM-ing IMO. My most successful articles all include a little of my expertise/opinion in them.

Keep going, learn, learn and then learn some more, adjust course using data as your guide and keep at it. It's too easy to quit after you encounter your first hurdle. I'm by no means a made-man but I'm getting there, slowly.

If you have an E-mail list, or a website which is a great match for a Clickbank product then go for it! You would be silly not to, but otherwise why not look elsewhere...or heck, why not compare two options, Clickbank and Amazon.

Well, with this case study/challenge I am going to be using Amazon as my platform of choice. I have been using Amazon for the past 12 months, I started with paid media activities, not a long term strategy but something that lasted about 9 months where I was making £x,xxx per month. Since then I moved my strategy to a long term approach, focusing on SEO, authority and niche content websites. However, the more I read, the more I realise that people are still struggling to crack that first sale, or first consecutive month where sales continue to come in and I cannot understand why.

Amazon has amazing conversion rates – especially when you focus on niche content websites leveraging traffic from long tail search queries.

In this case study/challenge I am going to challenge myself to research, create, promote and rank a completely new website. An update for everyone. My Amazon earnings from the one month of work I completed in October 2012 has been at a steady $450 a month for about the last 8 months. I literally haven't touched a thing for over two years. See below for January 2015.

So if you've put time into things and results haven't shown yet, don't lose heart. THESE THINGS TAKE TIME. Two years of it in my case.

Nice to see you back Adrian. I am happy to report that I am also making money with a new Amazon site which I have set up although it is not as much as your own site. Bear in mind that my site is just 2 months old.

My method is using auto amazon website. Our team have just create an auto blog system for amazon affiliate. This system allow us to create auto content from amazon product info and auto post to many websites in Wordpress platform (included free blog on wordpress.com). Share on: Great updates tombong, you should try setting up a Blog to help keep you accountable and to share lessons learnt. To answer some questions. My niches vary however most income comes from a high ticket electronic niche. While commission on electronics are capped at 4% often I'm selling items worth over $1k. I also sell LOADS of technical books. I've always tended to try and promote items that I have a genuine interest and expertise in (you might be able to tell that I'm an IT geek from way back). It's key to keep adding value value value and create something unique. The spun/low-value thing is short-term shotgun IM-ing IMO. My most successful articles all include a little of my expertise/opinion in them. Keep going, learn, learn and then learn some more, adjust course using data as your guide and keep at it. It's too easy to quit after you encounter your first hurdle. I'm by no means a made-man but I'm getting there, slowly.
