30 Day Article Writing Challenge - Write One Article Per Day For The Month of August 2013

Hello There!

My name is Victoria Virgo and I have decided to set myself a 30 Day Article Writing Challenge*. I will be aiming to write one article per day for the month of August 2013.:p

The Ultimate Goal of This Challenge
I hope to write these articles and publish them on Ezinearticles.com, in order to provide backlinks to a couple of my blogs.

I have decided to create a challenge here in the forum so that other people can join in if they would like to. Sometimes working on a challenge alongside others helps to keep you motiviated.

If you would like to join, all you need to do is pop over to this thread and confirm that you wrote your article.

The Rules
It is simply to write an article each day. No more, no less.

I am not sure about the forum rules here - ie - if you are allowed to add the link to the article you have written in this forum.

If we are, then I will be doing so here. Ezinearticles can take a few days to publish articles so the links might not show up immediately.

I have written lots of articles for EZA but they are under different pen names. I would now like to brand my own name, therefore the next 30 articles will be under Victoria Virgo.

*I know that there are 31 days in August - but The 30 Day Challenge has a much nicer ring to it. lol

That's it. The challenge Starts on Thursday 1 August 2013. It would be nice to have some company. Who's with me?

Trust me to start a challenge when I am at work all day long

Oh well, let's see if I can sneak a few minutes away in order to get my first article written.

I have decided that some of these articles will become blog posts, content for opt in pages and content for short reports. I may even write a few articles in order to create a new PLR pack for my site.

We shall see..........

I got article no.2 done and dusted. Writing this one has given me a great idea for an auto responder series. I have to start making notes for future projects

Victoria, thanks for mentioning this challenge over on Tiffany Lambert's blog. Tiff has a wonderful challenge going and I know she will kick butt and take names.

$14k Progress on Day 2

Guys, my goal is to create one blog post a day, maybe two. That will be my challenge ... and I plan to stick to it. Now, I need to crank up the volume because we're now on Day 3 and I have only completed just one blog post!

My first blog post is a list of 10 ideas. I finished it earlier this week. It is approximately 1,500 words. I didn't get a chance to review it yesterday but I will finalize it today and add the images and links to the content.

My plan is to create a blog post for each item on that list. When I make my way through that list, I will have 11 blog posts completed from which to create spin-off blog posts.

Each spin-off blog post will have 3 or 4 supporting blog posts. My final plan is to have at least 5 pieces of content created for each item on the original list. That would give me approximately 230 original pieces of content within 75 days.

If all goes well and I build some momentum, maybe I can crank out 3 or 4 blog posts (500+ words each) every day from Day 31 - Day 75; that's if I work every day, 24/7 with no days away from the keyboard. If I take every Sunday off, cranking out around 200 blog posts isn't bad.

Now, if I can just find the energy and motivation to increase the number of blog posts I create every day!

I think I can ... I think I can!!!!!

Welcome to Slazengeer & Iris!

Iris - I love how you have planned out your own writing challenge. It is really good if you can break down the task into bitesite chunks. The thought of creating 200 articles or posts sounds daunting when you say it like that. But writing 1,2 or 3 pieces each day helps reduce the fear and definitely reduces procrastination.

30 Day Article Writing Challenge - DAY THREE

I have just finished my article for the day.

Ezine Articles have changed their rules about what they will let you link to in the resources box. This means that I have to rethink some of my strategy. But I will continue to write and have a nice collection of articles by the end of the month.

Hi ElaineandFrankie - If you need articles for your websites, you might want to outsource them at the moment.

However, this could be a good challenge if you want to practice your writing skills. You could get into the habit of writing short pieces and you should notice over time that your skills improve. Good luck

Good morning all!

I am happy to see that everyone has been productive. I am just checking in to comfirm that I have written my article for today - Day No. 5.

I created a Facebook Group for an "Article Writing Challenge" but you beat me to the punchline by announcing your challenge here so I will save the Facebook group and hold another challenge in November (90 days from now).

I hopped aboard your challenge today - 6 days in, but I made up for it by writing a 6-page report on what else - The Power of the Pen!

I placed the report into my PLR store.

I want to join this challenge because I changed my schedule recently. Two days will be strictly product creation and PLR production.

QUESTION:

If I write a page for my new Kindle book - does that count as an article even though I'm placing it into my book?

Day 6:

1. Finished - 6 pages of writing for The Power of the Pen PLR Report

Oh, just for the record... I am counting 400 words as ONE PAGE since you didn't specify the length the article had to be. That's what I use for PLR articles - 400 words or more so as long as I write 400 words, it counts - right? LOL

Hi Dain - Welcome to the challenge.

You can do as little or as much as you would like. The main aim is to know that you have achieved something writing-wise.

Setting the bar at 1 article a day make it a doable task and less stressful. This should be a stress free productive challenge.

Welcome to the challenge. It is so great that we were thinking on the same wavelength. I will most definitely be pencilling in the next challenge for November.

With regards to this one - One article per day can be for anything you like. It can be an article, a blog post, a PLR page, part of an email auto responder series, a book page etc.

I didn't set a word count as your article will depend on what you need it for, though I always aim for a minimum of 400 words.

Bonnie - I know exactly what you mean - I haven't worked out which articles will be used for what. EZA will get a few but not all of them. Will figure that out later.

Seriously, EZA isn't the only place in town that has a good Alexa ranking and they take too long to approve articles, too!

I'm looking into other options because obviously the articles don't do a bit of good if they aren't approved and LIVE so publishers and bloggers can grab them to reprint.

I'm not just after backlinks - that's secondary to me. Google makes too many changes for me to worry about SEO. I want exposure!

Thanks for the warm welcome to the thread my friends. Its almost 3 am here in India and even though I am so tired right now that I may just doze off to sleep on my chair I finished yet another blog post

It took immense effort on my part but getting it done was important to tell my brain that I DON'T GIVE A **** WHAT YOU THROW AT ME, I AM GOING TO DO IT!

Well I am thinking of doing some media buying initially because without appreciation my desire to write and help will die and if I write some real good content I should get some repeat visitors which would more than likely pay for the media buying investment.

Any more ideas?

There are several things that you can do in order to promote your blog. That would definitely make a great topic for a 30 day challenge

Iris - I love how you have planned out your own writing challenge. It is really good if you can break down the task into bitesite chunks. The thought of creating 200 articles or posts sounds daunting when you say it like that. But writing 1,2 or 3 pieces each day helps reduce the fear and definitely reduces procrastination. (Great minds think alike)... I created a Facebook Group for an "Article Writing Challenge" but you beat me to the punchline by announcing your challenge here so I will save the Facebook group and hold another challenge in November (90 days from now). I hopped aboard your challenge today - 6 days in, but I made up for it by writing a 6-page report on what else - The Power of the Pen! I placed the report into my PLR store. I want to join this challenge because I changed my schedule recently. Two days will be strictly product creation and PLR production. QUESTION: If I write a page for my new Kindle book - does that count as an article even though I'm placing it into my book? Day 6: 1. Finished - 6 pages of writing for The Power of the Pen PLR Report Oh, just for the record... I am counting 400 words as ONE PAGE since you didn't specify the length the article had to be. That's what I use for PLR articles - 400 words or more so as long as I write 400 words, it counts - right? LOL 24 more to go!
