Just today I finished it and have has a product pop into my head already that I want to put together in my niche.

The issue I have is whether or not I should concentrate on getting my audience up first, as my website traffic is low (averaging less thatn 20 visitors/dayand have only 3 email subscribers that have a poor click rate.

Or should I get a minimum viable product put together to see if it is a product market fit that would do well?

I was at the same point a couple months ago. I thought it didn't really matter to capture some emails before launching my MVP, and I didn't really feel like doing it. Just building and launching the mvp felt to be much more productive and effective than wasting time on an email capture page.

However, as an early form of marketing I really wanted to submit my MVP to sites like betali.st. But those sites require your service to not yet be available to the public, so I ended up creating one anyways, and I'm very glad I did!

At the end, I ended up with just shy of 500 subscribers in two months or so. That's no much, but it's a great way to start your beta. I had over 95% open rate and over 45% CTR on this list, and the people were genuinely interested in testing out the service. Within 24 hours after puting up the beta and sending out the email, I had over 80 registered users. A lot of them have been helping me by providing quality feedback to improve the product and fix some bugs.

It's absolutely been worth it, and I'd suggest you do the same

    Thanks Egyptik.

So, it shouldn't matter that I have only 3 subcsribers in my list. I should create a MVP and use sites like beta list to get started.

This whole process confuses the heck out of me and with little upfront cash to get a product together, (I don't have the techincal ability myself) I am not sure where to begin.

I am thinking of doing a crowdfunder to get cash together. Not too sure how though.

Do both. I'm doing this very thing; building up an audience for my company's blog and simultaneously I'm working on developing the product.

Recently finished reading Ryan's book and thought it was great. Got a lot of ideas from it. Will be real curious to see what kind of program someone comes up with based off of it.

Yeah, I am planning on creating a training course this year to sell on my site.

I am looking at using training platforms like udemy to not only put the MVP on there to sell, but to then link back to my website for upsells and email subscribers.

My email list is only 6 now though, still not big enough.

A good way to get subscribers coming is to create your MVP first.

Then use a part of it you can give away for free to entice people to come to your site or blog.

You could then promote articles from your blog, or that free piece of content using forums and other lead generation techniques...really focus on getting those emails to bring people back to your site.

Then when your list is substantial enough in your eyes, you can re-launch as MVP 2.0 or give a discount for those who are on the fence.
