One question though - When talking about youtube - are we talking solely about making videos and posting meaningful comments or are we also referring to actively approach niche-related creators and get our link featured in video descriptions?

Would commenting on a plethora of blogs hurt your link building? Or, should one stick to a specific category of blogs (related to the site you're linking back to).

That would be a bummer especially if someone just likes to frequent blogs with all sorts of topics.

I have a blog on smartphones and gadget niche, it's very competitive niche with tons of sites covering smartphone related topic. What kind of topics should I generate for a steady growth? I started out with news type content in the beginning as there is always some new phone launch or gadget update happening around the world. But I see that it's not giving a good user experience when these old news topics show up in related post. All those old news are dead.

So can anybody suggest me the best strategy for a gadget blog to grow faster against the competition. What kind of content should I focus more?
News, Reviews, Tutorials, Top 10 list type, Comparison and Analysis.

Great info mate, but I CANT Agree, with very First point about "Small blog posts have no future"...if you will write a HIGH QUALITY content, valuable and deeply researched for reader..then you will get even on 1st page of google and you can write even 100 word article..all is about Quality

I am a virtual assistant for sending an email requesting for infographics to be place on their site.

Yes, infographic is really wonderful strategy but you need to hire a professional graphic designer or you have to outsource it. Then if you can afford to hire another virtual assistant to do the emailing and data mining it really works.

Forum posting and blog commenting are link building strategies.
However, posting and commenting on the said platforms should be targeted, 'cause if not it does not give you an assurance that you'll gain traffic from it.

All pretty straight forward but solid advice nonetheless. Quickest way for me to drive large amounts of traffic to a website is to seek out blogs with real readership and try to get mentions from them. Whether its a blog post, sponsored post, etc. Go where your audience is and get mentioned.

Good starting point, although implementing all 10 of the strategies listed won't guaranteed 1000+ visitors per day. It really depends on so many factors. YouTube users, for example, upload videos everyday, so creating a video doesn't mean it will get views, much less a visit to your website. This infographic is still a good idea generator.
