Perhaps the best growth hacking "technique" that you can learn is the "growth mindset".

In short, the "growth mindset" is that the person you are today isn't necessarily the person you "are".

In other words, you can always get better, you can always become what you want to become, and to get there you have to be open to failing.

For example, if you apply that to blogging.

Just because you aren't a seven-figure blogger today who is world-famous and has millions of twitter followers, that doesn't mean you aren't a seven-figure blogger as a person. Or that you don't have the potential to become that person.

It just means that you aren't that today, but you can still become it.

For me, that was really the breakthrough. Now I just apply it to all of the strategies and techniques that have been described above.

For me, growth hacking is the mindset itself applied to traditional and nontraditional moneymaking methods.

Nice share man, nice share. Let me chime in with my two cents, I love the growth hacking subject so much that this reply may get a little long, so forgive me.

Before you can ever even consider growth hacking, you need to have a clear understanding of who your target audience is and what the hell they want. If you dont know that then you're going to be wasting your energy on things that aren't going to move the needle for you.

for example, the growth hacking tactics a SaaS company would use would be completely different from the growth hacks that a Service business would be.

Now, lets get to it, I'm going to assume you have a blog because well, I'm just going to assume that.

First, you need to go out and determine your niche, saying I want to target internet marketers isn't good enough by far. Are you targeting internet marketers in US, are you targeting IM that work with small businesses, are you targeting internet marketers that serve the real estate industry? Are you targeting older internet marketers or the ones just starting their journey?

Once you have your niche, you can start to create growth hacking strategies that will appeal to them specifically.

For any hacking strategy to work, you need to get in front of the right eyeballs. For instance, Warrior forum is a great place to find and interact with IM while the Fast Lane Forum would be more geared towards entrepreneurs.

Once you've gotten these two out of the way, defining your audience and figuring where the hell they are, you can then start to growth hack.

Here are a few techniques you can actually start using right now to get a decided advantage.

        1. Network

Growth hacking is always more powerful when you have a strong network to help promote the hell out of your product, content, and landing pages. Networking is actually very simple, comment on blogs in your niche (real comments, not nice post). Tweet and share their posts on social media and make sure to tag them. Finally, email them and let them know how much you appreciate their content.

        2. Create courses

If you've got a decent amount of content on your website, you can repurpose a lot of it into courses and share it on places like Udemy and Skillshare. With Udemy, you can set the pricing to free to allow more users to sign up, from that point on, you can email them through the platform with more offers and upsells. Take advantage of other people networks and build your authority at the same time.

        3. Integrate

If you have a Saas product EG dropbox, integrate with as many different platforms as possible. have you noticed that almost anywhere you go you can log in with Facebook, Google+, and Twitter. If for some reason your still living under a rock and don't have an account these platforms, you may sign up just so it'll be easier to move around the internet.

        4.Quora and Forums

Use high traffic forums related to your niche to give in-depth answers to questions that users publish. all too often, people will just reply with one or two words and don't really get into the meat of the matter. When you answer in depth, like this one, it helps build your authority. Quora on the other hand, draws about 80 million monthly users from literally every background imaginable asking questions. Look for unanswered questions related to your niche and has a lot of people waitng for an answer. at the end of your answer drop a link back to your website or article. Also, answer product comparison questions on Quora which will drive some major traffic back to your site.

        5.Ethical Bribes

When people optin to your list, or otherwise interact with your content, give them a reason to share some more. Use an ethical bribe. This is basically a content upgrade on top of whatever it is that caused them to engage with you in the first place. Here's an example

Growth hacking appeared as the modern way in the age of Web 2.0 to reach a market and distribute an idea. Instead of classic marketing which typically interrupts your day, a growth hacker uses “pull”; he or she understands user behavior provides value immediately to persuade. A growth hacker wraps messaging into the fabric of the lives and thoughts of users. A growth hacker will leverage across disciplines, pulling in insights from behavioral economics and gamification, to find the right message to pull in users.

A growth hacker finds a strategy within the parameters of a scalable and repeatable method for growth, driven by product and inspired by data. Growth hacking’s goal are based in marketing but driven by product instincts. A growth hacker lives at the intersection of data, product, and marketing. A growth hacker lives within the product team and has a technical vocabulary to implement what he or she wants.

Growth Hacking is a classy word & world. In simple terms I can define this as a new age digital marketing where you watch the analytics & get hold of a particular thing that is working for you & try to extract as much as possible.

Think that you are getting good traffic to your website through your backlink that you did on a particular website, next step is to analyse why its working out well & doing it more after a complete understanding of the process. As simple as that.

I can share many such examples but hope this is enough.

    Thank you

  • Anyone on here familiar with purchasing shout-outs on Instagram and posting a squeeze page? Get access to an account's million+ followers by paying them to post something for you that will also either put a link in their bio or send followers to your account where you can have a link for your opt-in page. You can do this with multiple accounts, although it will cost you some money. Don't know if this was helpful, but it's something new I ran across.

There are people who can promote you like that on Fiverr.com. But the method won't assure you of conversions... I think it's risky and not so targeted. Except when you find an influential person who's in the same niche as yours.

Great post with lots of value. Growth hacking is basically an ability to go from zero traffic to millions within a day.

I think before saying 'techniques' it's more of a process that we have to follow in order to hack. Hence, what we can do is, split the process into parts, and call the whole process,a funnel. The growth hacking funnel is described simply by a series of steps which are as follows

Awareness/Acquisition : This stage is all about getting your product or service in front of the targeted eyeballs. The trick here is to find the most cost effective solution which will scale up your business in the least time possible

Activation: Once users have seen your product, what drives them to signup/buy it? Activation is all about getting people (who are aware of your product) to try out your product. Conversion rate optimization is one of the most important things.

Retention : Once you have some users onboard, you need to understand that staying in touch with them and forming a lasting relationship is of paramount importance.

Referral : Using existing customers as a marketing channel is a smart way that successful companies use. Referral programs that involve existing customers invite their peers to try out your products is a smart way to grow your product base.

Revenue: And finally, building a constant revenue stream to make the business sustain (and thrive) is the final and most important step.

  • Growth hacking is THE buzzword for startups. Forget “pivoting” and “iterating”. Growth hacking.

    That’s the thing.

It’s almost annoying for those who have heard about it 1,000’s of times by now and confusing for those who don’t know what it is.

Like it or not, growth hacking is happening.

And it’s the reason we get to see a few new startups each year, with absolutely ridiculous growth rates.
