Where do you get inspiration for your blog posts?

I think its' really difficult for those who arent natural writers to sit in front of a computer screen and pump out the number of blog posts required for a successful marketing campaign which is why I think it's best, if you can, to pay a professional. That being said, when you first start out, a content marketer isnt always the top priority to put on the payroll! Generally, you start blogging about the obvious topics in your industry, why people need your service and so on and so forth but once your initial ideas stream has run dry, here are a few ways that I've found useful to get inspiration for your blog titles.

Chat forums:
Yep, places like the WF are gold for choosing titles for your own blog, whatever your industry, checking out relevant forums will give you an idea of some of the subjects that are hot topics and you can make your titles around that. Entries with the most comments and activity are a great place to start.

Social media:
Twitter and Facebook in particular are great places to see whats trending in your industry. On these platforms, you can see which hashtags are going viral and which current news articles are relevant to your niche AND gaining lots of momentum. Jump on the bandwagon and you'll find yourself with lots of views and comments.

Attend local events:
For SEO purposes (which I'm assuming is the reason that many people blog), it's good to refer to local events and businesses that are relevant to your niche. Attend an event and then blog about why you found it useful and why you would or wouldn't recommend it. Getting local information into your blogs is great for SEO and helps you to build a relationship withy our local client.

Make use of the notes feature on your phone:
It's near on impossible to sit down, think of a title and then write a blog. I always have my eyes and ears open for inspiration and if something hits me when I'm in the supermarket or out on a bike ride, Ill add it to my notes app in my phone so that when I sit down to write, I've got a few ideas to pick from. If I left it to my memory, there's no chance at all I'd remember anything when it was time to put pen to paper!

I think Quora can be great, find someone asking a (industry-related) questions, and if you can write a detailed, helpful post, then do it! If they posted it on there they more than likely aren't the only one in the world who has that question.
