Why is everyone calling everything based on Uber?

Sometimes I do not understand why is Uber considered a role model in business.

They have no profit, even though they are aggressive growing. A business fundamentally has to be making money, not spending more than what they earn.

I think such mentality is very dangerous. Everyone think they can be like facebook, which is starting to make money already.

    Based on Bloomberg news, they lost at least 1.2 billion in first half of 2016. This is insane, I would never invest in Uber, unless was at the initial startup phase.

    Despite the Bloomberg article, I feel Uber is just like Amazon in terms of making profit.

    Uber and Amazon focus at this point in their business isn't profit it's growth.

    All it takes for either to make profit is too simply focus on making profit, by dialing back all the resources they currently use to grow.
