How to make real money from stock photo sites - without ever taking a single picture!

I know the article title might seem a little strange, but stay with me on this one - it's based on real-life experience and positive results.

Here's the thing - from my experience, illustrations sell much better than photos on stock sites.

Now, I'm not an illustrator, and I can't draw - which is why I have software create the images for me. The sample above was created with Cinema4D in less than 5 minutes. I can change the text and churn out dozens of variations in a single hour.

Yes, Cinema4D is pretty expensive - like around $700-$800 US - and you need a fairly modern PC to run it - but it's still a lot cheaper than a decent DSLR camera - and you never have to leave the house to take pictures!

Another benefit is that you never have to deal with model/property releases. EVER!

I have about 500 images in my portfolio which earn me a steady $4-$10 in passive income each and every day. (If you want to see my portfolio, send me a private message and I will send you a link)

GROWTH HACK #1:
Create your illustrations in several different languages to amplify your earnings.

GROWTH HACK #2:
Submit your illustrations to several stock photo sites to amplify your earnings.

GROWTH HACK #3:
Create a blog and have it automatically update your Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Linkedin feeds with your latest creations.

GROWTH HACK #4:
Because every graphic is created with a physics engine, no two illustrations will ever be the same - therefore, you can sell them on Fiverr with full resell rights so others can make money too!

Hope you found this post helpful! It's my first one on Warrior Forums.

Wishing you all a happy and successful 2018!

I sell mostly on Shutterstock, Adobe Stock and Dreamstime. I make about $1000 a year.

  • Interesting idea. Would love more details about the actual process and would love to know if there's a software out there for a lower price that does the same thing.

You can do the same thing with Blender which is free - but there is a steep learning curve - I found the learning curve on Cinema4D to be much shorter.

One alternative idea how to make money from stock photo websites without taking single picture ...and without creating single illustration.

The majority of the stock photo websites offer very interesting affiliate programs. You get commissions for referred buyers and sometimes also for referred photographers. The best thing is that these commissions are recurring.

Since the largest stock photo websites usually pay recurring commissions for a limited time (first x months or x years), it may be worth to promote some smaller websites because they more often pay lifetime commissions.

This sounds really promising. Can you elaborate how you create illustrations with Cinema4D exactly?
    Thanks for sharing your idea

I create a solid floor - then add the text as a collision object - then use an emitter to make it rain money bundles - which are also defined as collision objects - very easy to substitute the text and churn out multiple images.

Do they have to be different, or could you just change the text only? Do stock sites accept, say, 100 versions of the same image only with a different text?
