Best way to promote a fiction blog

Hey there,

I am not really sure where to put this thread, so I decided to go with blogging.

I am a fiction writer. I write weekly stories, which I post on my blog and which I share via social media. I have accounts on various social media pages, as well as content pages. The general question I have is how do I get a higher exposure for my work?
Now I know of course that to get anywhere as a writer takes a long time. I am just wondering, what ways are there to get followers and readers.

I know about buying likes on Facebook for example, but it really doesn't do much more than to raise my like number, but doesn't really get me more people interested in actually reading any of my stories. I guess it would be the same with most other Social Networks.

My short term strategy so far is to post my stories on Reddit, Medium, DeviantArt, Tumblr and a few other pages and link from there to my social media pages to create a following.
The big problem is that my follower count is growing extremely slowly. Medium is my most 'successful' page so far and I am looking at a growth of about 100 followers per month.

So the basic question is, what are ways to speed up this process? I am not hoping for a success over night type of thing or some magic secret. What I am looking for are ways that work and will bring me new readers.

Thanks in advance.

Collaborations work well in reaching a larger audience. If you work with bloggers who are also on the same niche, you get to increase your audience reach. Influencer marketing as also something you can consider, you get real engagement and real audience that way.

Do you have a large social media following? I believe, even though they are image/video heavy, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.. are a good way to go for writers.

I advise you to try link building method. It's great. Moreover you can even try the greater possibility - is to change links with other bloggers.

I personally believe you need to focus on tags and backlinking.

Actually another good way to promote your site is to write on fanfiction sites like Fanfiction.net and Wattpad. Those sites make it extremely easy to find new readers and then you can link them to your blog and gain a follower. I write on Fanfiction.net and although I'm writing a story of a couple that's not very popular, my story has gotten about 1,500 views. There was a time when I wrote a story about a popular shipping couple of a popular anime and my stories would get about 20,000+ views.

Might I suggest.... turning your weekly writings into a pod-cast?

In terms of growth with what you have.. if Medium is where you are seeing the greatest amount of growth.. start looking into ways that you can increase your reach and ultimately your followers. I personally cant help here, because I had to look up what Medium was LOL. But with a little search I found: https://thenextweb.com/insider/2015/...r-medium-blog/ or here: https://growandconvert.com/content-m...-viral-medium/

    Hope that Helps!

It seems to me that now very popular sites are social networks. Now it's more convenient to develop in social networks, for example in Instagram. If you use promotional tools for promotion, then it will not take much time. I think that this is really a good playground.

Together with the accounts that you need to necessarily have and promote, like you do, you need to publish to Wattpad and Fanfiction.net. And it's a very good idea to cooperate with bloggers who also work with such topics.
